The Capezio Women's Gliss Pointe Shoe excels in providing a comfortable entry point for dancers new to pointe work. The meticulous design featuring a wide platform promotes balance, which is crucial when transitioning onto your toes. With its longer vamp, it accommodates foot shapes comfortably, reducing the risk of blisters and soreness that often plague novice dancers.
One of the standout features of this shoe is its supportive #3 shank. This allows you to gradually build strength in your feet while still offering the necessary support needed in the early stages of training. This shoe makes the learning curve much more manageable, fostering confidence and encouraging progression.
Given that the shoe runs about half a size smaller than your typical street shoe, it's advisable to consult with a fitting professional or try them on before purchasing to ensure the best fit.

Perfect for her ballet clases.Look good, well made. She is in love, uses all the time, fits very well.
My shoes arrived a week ago and they're lovely, but I think they're too small for me , acutually my shoes size is usually between 6 and 6 1/2 and although it's written here that we're supposed to get half a size up, I chose to order size 6, and I messed up!they really hurt!may be I should've got size 7 instead,
If you know your size then I would recommend getting pointe shoes off amazon. These shoes were $20 less here than they were on discountdance.com. If you are new to pointe or do not know your exact size then do NOT buy your shoes online. I bought my usual size here and they fit just as expected. Capezio is always a great quality shoe.
I didn't actually get a chance to dance on these shoes as the sizing on Amazon.com was horribly off! As a dancer who usually dances solely in Bloch shoes, I thought I'd take advantage of the wonderful sale Amazon was having on Capezio pointe shoes to try another brand and see what I thought. Unfortunately, the recommendation to purchase shoes 1/2 size smaller than street shoe sizing was terribly off and I had to return the shoes. When I checked on the Discount Dance website (those who had actually shipped the product to me), I found that they recommend sizing the Capezio pointe shoes 1 size *larger* than your street shoe size, which is a much more accurate recommendation. I attempted to do an exchange, only to find that the shipper was unable to exchange the too-small shoes for a pair that fit correctly because the inventory had been depleted. Had I received accurate information as to sizing in the first place, I could have taken advantage of the sale pricing to try out a new shoe. I notice that this inaccuracy still hasn't been corrected on Amazon's website, so I would recommend the buyer beware when relying on the sizing information provided on this website if you have never tried this particular shoe before.
I ordered a size 5 originally for a 9 year old who wears a size 5. It was nowhere close to fitting so I exchanged it for a larger size that still was not at all close to fitting. I ended up returning it altogether.
They fit perfectly. We ordered one and a half sizes larger than my daughter's regular shoe size. They look beautiful on her and she could not be happier.
I bought these for my girlfriend who dances several times. She likes them and they are sturdy enough. Her one complaint is that she never knows what to expect in the shoes. She says the way they feel is completely different from time to time. Sometimes she gets a really excellent pair and sometimes she gets a pair that is super uncomfortable. I guess that's the danger of getting a hand-made product online. She wears a size 8.5. With the silicone toe protector, she gets a size 9.5 and the fit is good.
This is a great pointe shoe for the price. The fit chart was very accurate, making it much easier to order online. I saved over $25 buying online with free shipping. The only problem we have with this shoe is it's durability. As my daughter's pointe skills improved and her workouts intensified, these shoes failed to hold up for more than 3 months, approximately 14 classes. That can get expensive. However, we've not found another shoe that holds up better AND fits and feels so well on her feet. These are really easy for her to break in and don't leave blisters or in-grown toenails. Other brands we've tried have hurt her feet. We purchased the Capezio "ballet pink" ribbon in 3 yard length which matches these shoes perfectly. I also found some Gaynor Minden elastic in the same color that also matches these shoes and the ribbon, all purchased from Amazon. See my reviews for these products.
