I have been trying many brands of shoes for dance fitness / Zumba for several years. Although I have been sort happy with the shoes I already have (Bloch, Reebok, Nene's, etc), I really wanted to continue my search until I find a better fit for me. I recently bought this pair and I feel my search is over! My foot is narrow overall with very long toes (especially my middle toes are the longest, monkey toes!); I have very high and strong arch. I also wanted shoes with dance-friendly soles like Bloch and Nene's. My favorite Blochs do not have the ankle support, and my Nene's have too wide toe box. This Capezio Fierce Dance sneakers solved these. They are not wide in toe box and heel. They have good ankle support without being too bulky. They are very light. As most dance shoes companies, the sizing is small, so you need to order at least 1.5 sizes larger than your street shoes. My street shoe / sandal size is 7, my running shoe size is 8.5-9. My bloch dance sneakers are size 8.5, so I ordered Capezio 8.5 as well, and they are perfect.
I take Zumba classes almost daily and because I tend to have extremely flexible feet, not all sneakers work for me and I find I need to take excessive breaks during my workout due to uncomfortable shoes and/or numbing toes. After trying most tried and proven workout sneakers, I spotted someone in my class with similar issues wearing a dance/hip hop shoe like this one where the piece in the middle is flexible. I came across this shoe on your website and immediately ordered them. Not only was it made by a trusted company, but the price was amazing and not bad on the eyes!I have already used them many times and there was no need to break them in at all. I am totally impressed with the performance of this shoe. I didn't have to take any breaks during my routine and found I was able to pull off all of the Zumba moves with great ease and speed which is something I find difficult to do with a sneaker.I usually take between an 8 and 8.5 in woman's shoe depending on the material and quality of the shoe so I went ahead and ordered a 9 in this shoe and it fit perfectly! I like that it came with an extra pair of shoe laces in gray which allowed me to change my look. Would definitely recommend this shoe to anyone who has similar issues and enjoy a dance routine as a workout. It doesn't disappoint and as a matter of fact, I'm thinking of buying an extra pair so that I never have to go without. Although the shoe itself looks and feels quite durable and can take a beating.Vickie from NJ
I've been wearing Capezio DS11 for the last 8 years for linedance & the last 2 years for zumba. One pair usually lasts me around 2 years, frequency of use is 4-5 times a week...sometimes as long as 4 hours per session. These shoes have kept my knees & feet in good shape for the last 8 years. Excellent cushioning on the ball & heel which really is important for dancing, especially zumba. In these shoes I could jump, bounce & do pivoting with ease. My knees & feet have been protected from any injury & damage with these shoes. I've been wearing 9.5 all these years & I don't wear other brands besides Capezio. So recently,I ordered this pair again in my 9.5 since my current shoes although still in good condition are starting to show their age, been 2 years already. Imagine my disappointment when I received the shoes. A 9.5 couldn't fit me anymore! The width of the shoe is now way much narrower than my old pair. I forced my feet in but really just couldn't fit anymore. Sadly,I had to sell the shoes to a friend whose size fits. Putting side by side the old & new pair to compare, the difference in the cut is pretty obvious. The new pair cuts very narrow. I don't understand why Capezio now makes such narrow cut for its shoes. It was doing great with the old design for umpteen years. Many loyal Capezioians among my friends. In fact,as recent as last week,4 of my zumba friends bought this exact design upon my recommendation after going to a local shop to try the fit of the shoes. I would still recommend this DS11 for people wanting solid cushioning in their shoes for dance & Zumba but you must make sure you go to a local shop to try on the various sizes to see your best fit then order from Amazon. Don't just buy base solely on reviews here. I tried my friend's 10.5 & the fit was ok but somehow because of the narrow width the shoes didn't feel as great as before. So I won't be buying them for myself anymore. Capezio, please take heed.
Originally ordered these in a size 9 (normally wear a size 8) per the reviews ( shoe runs small)Unfortunately, when they arrived a 9 was to small and I had to return and ordered a size 10 which now fits nicely. The shoe is nice, soft and flexible with cushion and support
love the shoe and style but it's very, very small. My granddaughter has been dancing for 5 years and is quite comfortable with jazz shoes and their tight fit - these are going to be used for hip-hop classes. I ordered a 1/2 size up and she can't walk in them. I am reordering two more pair just to be sure, going 1 full size up and 1 1/2 size up. I believe the 1 1/2 size larger is going to be the one. I will write another review when the two new orders come in. This one has to go back.
I have been wearing these shoes for Zumba for probably 15 years. Very comfortable and last for a long time.
This show is perfect for my Zumba. I wear a 7 street shoe, but a 9 in all athletic / running shoes. The 9 in this shoe was too small so I went to a 9.5 and it fit perfect. It's easy to turn, great support, yet shoe is flexible. I 'm new at Zumba but have done other fitness type dancing and would be able to use this shoe for those as well.
Sizing is offI wear a 7Had to return for an 8One shoe feels a tad short even sizing up.
