Founded in Sydney in 1932 by Jacob Bloch, this brand has a storied history of creating exceptional dance footwear, particularly known for their handmade pointe shoes adored by ballet dancers worldwide. The Bloch Women's Audeo Jazz Tap shoes excel in multiple areas, making them an ideal choice for both new and experienced dancers. Their leather construction is robust yet flexible, providing excellent support during performances. This feature allows you to transition smoothly between steps without compromising stability.
One of the standout attributes of these shoes is their cushioning. The lightly-padded linings ensure that your feet remain comfortable, even after long hours of practice or performance. Additionally, the Kashmir lining is a thoughtful addition, as it helps manage moisture, delivering a dry and pleasant experience while dancing.
The heel notch is another impressive aspect designed specifically to relieve pressure on the Achilles tendon, which is a common concern among dancers. This attention to detail shows Bloch's understanding of dancer needs and biomechanics.
However, while the shoes predominantly shine in performance aspects, it's worth noting that they have limited color options, which might not appeal to everyone. Also, be mindful of potential sizing issues, as some users report that the shoes run smaller than expected. Lastly, the leather sole limits their versatility for outdoor settings, which could deter those looking for multi-purpose footwear.

I wear an 8.5 -9.0 medium ( mostly prefer a 9 in structured and athletic shoes and boots) and I ordered the 10 which fit perfectly and I can wear them with or without socks. I would definitely recommend ordering up a full size for starters because it's most likely that you will need more room given that they are dancing shoes. They seem to be a medium width with a slight tendency to be more on the narrow side of medium. A person with a truly narrow foot may want to order up only 1/2 size vs. full. Aside from the size issue, the leather is very soft, pliable and the shoes mold to my feet very well without binding, pinching or rubbing and there is no breaking in needed. These shoes fit as well as a soft leather glove. Very nice! For added reference info, the insole of the size 10 measures right at 10 inches and my foot measures ( big toe to heel)9 7/8 inches. I believe that size 10 equates to a size 40 eur. Hope that helps
These shoes are absolutely incredible! Worth every penny! Very well made and comfortable. The only thing I felt important to add to the other reviews is my experience with sizing. I wear a 7.5 Medium and ordered a 9.5, but they were a half size too large. I am exchanging them for a 9 Medium. As far as the shoes go though, these are fabulous and the best tap shoes I've owned. I have tapped since childhood and am 44 now.Happy tapping!
Great sound for these taps. My daughter needed a good intermediate tap shoe as she no longer needs the the beginners but is not ready for a heavy professional tap just yet. The shockwave taps have a nice crisp sound and they weren’t too difficult to break in. Looking forward to her comp season with these!
Great fit true to size solid sole. Great sound
Sadly this product was not true to size on both shoes, as we encountered some sort of defect once my daughter tried to walk in them during her first dance practice with them on, and we were unable to return within the window of time, so we are out the $ for them. There is clearly something wrong with the actual shoe and the insert. We desperately needed this exact shoe for a dance competition so I ordered another pair a half size bigger so that if we ran into the same issue, we could at least fill the shoe with lambs wool at the top where it would be a bit bigger, but she would have the issue with something poking through giving her a blister. In the end, customer service was not very helpful. Very disappointing considering how much money I spend on Prime.I will consider this when asked to pay the up charge for the new prime service. Most stores give you a 60day time frame which seems fair enough.
This is a lovely shoe once you get the correct size! I made the mistake of not reading the reviews closely enough and ordered only one whole size up (a 9 instead of my normal street shoe size of size 8). I had to return them for the 9.5, which fit perfectly. They seem true to width once you get the correct length. With Amazon's Prime shipping policy, the deliveries/return were quick and painless.
Local dance store didn't have my daughter's size, ordered here, fit perfectly and saved me $75!
I saw all of the reviews that said these run small, but as I just purchased Bloch's black split sole tap shoes in 7.5M a couple of months ago, clearly Bloch's 7.5M fit me well. I've had great luck with several pairs of Bloch jazz shoes over the years. But these beige audeotones are at least 3/4 of a size smaller. What the heck, Bloch? Your shoes cost too much to be dealing with this kind of inconsistencies.
