Trying to get back into running I have to say these are some of the most comfortable running shoes I have ever owned. So far the shoes are sturdy and well built without any signs of wear and tear yet with already 20+ miles put into them. As a person with feet that can get very hot and sweaty while running the breathable top layer of the shoe is extremely great. You can feel the air moving through the shoe as you move. I usually wear between a 12 and a 12 and a half. I got these in a 12 and a half and they fit perfectly. So I wouldn't quite say they run small but I'm sure the 12 would have been tighter than normal but not uncomfortable.
Love the color palette, comfort, fit - the whole package works very well for me. Asics has been my go-to shoe for a wider foot. They just have the formula down. Love this shoe.
Great trail running shoes. Well made and sturdy. Fit is spot on. Toebox is comfortable and mid-upper is snug. Sole has a lot of traction. The shoe cushioning is quite firm which is not horrible because in rocky trail conditions that can be a plus. However, the con is that it is one of the more rigid platforms with less responsiveness. Always trade-offs. Upper is breathable and comfortable.
Asics, you've done it again. Bringing woven patterns with mesh designs. I gotta say these Alpine XT are comfortable, allowing space and flexibility. My feet are wide, these can make up the difference for width. Spevafoam is firm with good bounce back on concrete or trail running. Now here comes the "CON" cleaning these bad boys.....ugh are a task and I mean a task. You can't fully wet them, because the muck will soak through the shoes. You can't scrub them, they'll begin to chafe and most of the material will start to look tacky. So you gotta be patient and gentle with the cleaning procedure, a damp towel, first loosen up any muck then a dry towel to wipe. This will keep them looking new. "Side note" purchase a $1 toothbrush, it will help clean the sole of the shoes, there are little 'mm' spaces between the the tread.
Run 5Ks daily in several different running shoes! I always go back to my Alpine XTs! They're comfortable, light, feet feel supported, and great cusion!
The old alpines have been discontinued for years…I’ve always resupplied using eBay however these aren’t exactly like the originals but are better the inside is softer. I hope they keep this model permanently the originals are almost impossible to find now.
I like the style of these shoes. Unfortunately, they are too small. I usually wear between 12-13 sizes. I got these in a 13 and they are too short! My toes touch at end. My only option would be to get a 14 which would be way too large. Bummer.
I run on some rocky trails, and my old shoes let me feel every sharp pebble along the way. These are great. They protect the soles of my feet! They also are stable, grip the ground well, and are not heavy at all. After a dozen or so runs, they get five stars from me.
