ASICS Men's Gt-2000 3 Running Shoe Review

I love Asics running shoes (High End) I do not run, I walk--but I have neuropathy pain in my toes and I have to have something that fits and wears well- I have been buying this GT2000 model for about 5 years now-- I usually wear 10-10.5. But In this show I went up to size 11. I normally wear regular width- but have a few days or a week to 'wear it in' being a little on the tight width size- then its ok. This time I decided since my feet are so sensitive now- I would get the wide width size 11..I am so glad I did.. It fit perfectly right out of the box.. I have had compliments galore on these shoes- The heels are unique with the Cammo pattern- and mixed with the Pink- very stylish.. Im not a young gal being in my 50's I enjoy something a little youthful and fun! And #1 its comfortable! Yep its a bit pricey- but these will last around 9 mos for several days a week all day wear and about 6 miles a week walking trails and streets or treadmill-

I've been wearing the Asics GT line for 10 years. I absolutely love them. For anyone with a high arch, you can't get any better. I ran cross-country and track in HS and unfortunately did not discover Asics until later on. They last forever, but I try to replace them every 500-1000 miles. Then I save the old ones for rainy days, muddy trails, or running shoe recycling/donation (a drop-off service I have found a various running retailers). I suffered with shin splints whenever I would go back to running after a break. After my Asics, I have never had a problem. They are worth every penny. The only thing is, I wear a true 7.5 in every other shoe I own. I have always worn 8's in Asics after reluctantly taking the advice of a salesperson. I guess it's common with running shoes. She was right. They are still snug enough,but not too confining. I recommend going 1/2 a size bigger than what you normally wear.

Excellent quality shoes with no manufacturing imperfections or stray glue. The shoe design is a nice mix of white and grey background with pretty bright aqua and pink trim. I ordered 9 1/2 double wide (EE) and the fit was perfect. The heel was correctly designed for a good fit. Perfectly designed toe box with the right amount of roominess in the right area without making the toe too rounded and clownish looking. Good support and cushioning along the foot bed. Total comfort right out the box. No pinching or pressure anywhere. No seams to rub blisters. They were so comfortable that I decided to wear them the rest of the day after trying them on.

Previously I was wearing Brooks Pureflow 2 running shoes in 7M, and I used the review and fit tool on the Runner's World website to compare these to the Brooks before buying. The 7M ASICS are quite padded around the side of the heel. The footbed is definitely shorter than the Brooks, but not so short that I needed to size up. My longer foot is 24cm exactly and of medium width, and if you lace the shoe fairly loosely, there's exactly enough room for the plantar fasciitis gel inserts I use (http://smile.amazon.com/Scholls-Pain-Relief-Orthotics-Heel/dp/B0039NN17O/ref=sr_1_1?s=hpc&ie=UTF8&qid=1432056169&sr=1-1&keywords=dr+scholls+plantar+fasciitis+inserts) without any pinching, and the toe box is wide enough to wiggle my toes around. I think if your foot is any longer than 24cm, you'll definitely want to go up to a 7 1/2.My old Brooks were ranked with "best cushioning" for 2013 by Runner's World, while these were given even higher cushioning numbers in this year's review. The review describes the new ASICS sole technology so I won't repeat it, but I can try to describe the difference. The Brooks are super squishy and compress under your weight with each step. The ASICS don't squish at all--to the point that I was afraid they were going to feel like concrete blocks before I stood up in them--but somehow the pressure of each step is diffused through the entire sole and away. It's extremely hard to describe, but it works and my feet feel well supported against their usual joint hypermobility.Re the listing: Confusingly, this is listed as a Trail Running Shoe on my review page and simply as a Running Shoe on the main listing page. Not sure which is right.Re the color: I didn't realize from the photo just how fluorescent yellow the laces are or that the eye-searing yellow would be the dominant color dragging my eye to my shoes every time I looked down. It is literally the same color as glow-in-the-dark paint, even though the laces don't actually glow in the dark. I ordered some light gray oval laces to match the ASICS symbol on the sides (white would be too much white and blue would be far, far too much blue). Actually, the lack of variety in color is my biggest gripe. Apart from the accent colors, every one of these is blue, blue-green, or blue-violet. All this interminable blue is boring, but I'll cope if it means my feet stop screaming at me.
