The ASICS Men's Glideride Running Shoes are specifically designed for runners looking to maximize their distance while minimizing energy expenditure. With advanced GUIDESOLE technology, these shoes provide an experience that allows you to run farther with less effort.
One of the standout features is the combination of FLYTEFOAM technology and GEL cushioning, which significantly reduces muscle load at foot strike. The stiff forefoot design and dynamically curved sole work together to enhance running efficiency by limiting unnecessary ankle joint movement.
You will appreciate the rolling motion from the shoe that helps propel your foot forward, making each stride feel smoother and more efficient. This innovative approach to running footwear aims to conserve energy during long runs, allowing you to focus on your pace rather than fatigue.

The ASICS Men's Glideride Running Shoes excel in providing exceptional performance for long-distance runners. The GUIDESOLE technology is a game-changer, as it minimizes energy loss by promoting a natural rolling motion in your stride. You’ll find that the design allows you to maintain a quicker pace without the overwhelming fatigue typically associated with long runs.
The engineered mesh upper offers excellent ventilation, ensuring your feet remain cool even on hot days, while also providing the stability needed for varied terrains. Runners who struggle with joint pain or fatigue will particularly benefit from the rearfoot GEL technology, which absorbs shock effectively during impact, reducing strain on your legs.
However, it’s worth noting that if you tend to overpronate heavily, the support offered may not be sufficient compared to other models tailored for stability. Additionally, the initial stiffness of the shoes may take some getting used to, so a gradual break-in period is recommended.

These shoes are freakin awesome. You have to be ok with the style of sole though as they have that rocking stride. If you like a flat shoe this isn’t for you. I found that it improves my walking and running stride and speed. They basically propel you as you walk/run, I don’t want to wear anything else. These are my go to shoe.I wear a 12 or 12 ½ so ordered these in a 12, my big toe was rubbing just a bit in the tip of the inside so returned them for a 12 ½ and the fit is perfect.
My second pair in 5 months, fantastic shoe for long runs of 10 miles or more. My first pair has over 800 miles on them and the perform very well still. Tons of cushioning and very comfortable. The upper is great and still look new. The only knock on this shoe is that its 100% a road shoe with absolutely no traction for trails or gravel. It's really a road shoe and nothing else. Similar to Hoka as far as cushioning. The shoe does have some stability although its listed as a neutral shoe. Highly recommend
Update:I wore these shoes a few more times, and I think I must have hit a break in threshold, as they vastly improved after about 150 miles. I still think they may be a bit over-assertive, but the comfort level improved in the midsole as I put more miles on them. I'm now using them for my longer runs and expect them to hold up for some time. I adjusted my rating to 4 stars.------I'll start off saying I don't love these shoes. I think they will hold up well as the materials feel durable and still responsive after 100+ miles. That said, I just don't love the feel. For me, the shoe is overly assertive in exerting stride mechanics and I can feel it over long runs through additional soreness in my joints.Pros* Durable* Exaggerated rocker does push you forwardCons* Forefoot is too stiff and creates fatigue and soreness on longer runs (hour+)* Outsole is slippery in damp/wet conditions. The compound used is durable, but slippery when wet* The shoe is overly assertive in pushing it's mechanics onto you - meaning, your stride mechanics will be forced to change when running in this shoe and that can create soreness. I wear different shoes for different runs/conditions. If I ran in only this shoe, I think my stride would adapt - but should my stride adapt to the shoe or should the shoe adapt to my stride? (I'm of the opinion that it should be more towards the latter)* It's not as plush as it looks. Although the stack height may say Hoka, the feel is certainly stiffer overall
I’m a Nike fan and tried numerous ASICS running shoes and didn’t like any as they are heavy, clumsy and heavy. When the Glideride came out I decided to give it another try as they looked good and different. When I first put them on they felt different than any other running shoe, first run felt a bit strange for about a mile. After the first mile it was pure love. Wow !!!!!These shoes feel light, comfortable and push you forward due to their front drop. They feel like soft gloves. This ride may not be for everyone but for me they are perhaps the best running shoe ever made and I’ve been running for over 40 years.Bottom line, excellent cushioning and response.
This shoe has ASICS Guidesole tech, rocker shoe. The rocker makes it more efficient for running. Also there is plenty of soft cushioning. This thing makes me feel like running on marshmallows, and I enjoy that. This added height does make running off trail have some limitations, but I don’t do trail running. My previous shoes was Brooks GTS 19 and 20. And I think these are better. Brooks have a great fit, but the cushion lasts 6-12 months. Hopefully this will last longer.
I wasn’t sure what to expect when I pulled them out of the box as they’re less flexible than my Red Wing Iron Rangers but once I ran in them I was blown away. The rocker really moves you forward, the padding is cushioned without being too soft and I was surprised by the energy return. Really great running shoes.
I've been a fan of ASICS for years and for good reason. ASICS shoes have always fit true to size for me and performed well on the roads. The GlideRide running shoes took ASCIC's already solid performance record to the next level. The cushion and feel of the shoe are amazing and the construction is well done. If you are looking for a high performance running shoe and can afford the ~$150 price tag, these are definitely worth considering.
Once you get them on, they're fine, but the laces get caught in a bunch of grooves on the tongue and it takes 5 minutes to wrestle them tight. I'm pretty sure I know how to operate shoelaces, so I have to blame the laces and the shoe themselves. Too bad, cause they're nice otherwise
