The ASICS Men's Gel-Quantum 180 4 Running Shoes are designed with direct inspiration from their predecessor, the GEL-SUPER QUANTUM. These shoes feature QUANTUM 180 tooling that ensures all-day comfort, making them suitable for both casual runs and more intense training sessions. Equipped with TRUSSTIC SYSTEM technology, the sole unit is lightweight while maintaining structural integrity, providing runners with the support they need.
The upper part of the shoe is crafted from a lightweight mesh and synthetic material, providing breathability without compromising on support. The seamless construction in the forefoot minimizes potential irritation, allowing you to focus on your performance.

The ASICS Men's Gel-Quantum 180 4 Running Shoes stand out particularly in terms of comfort and support. The combination of the Ortholite® insole and the Solyte® midsole works wonders in providing excellent cushioning during runs. This makes them ideal for those who enjoy long distances or regular training, as they help absorb impact effectively.
The shoe's neutral support type is perfect for runners with a normal gait; however, those who overpronate may find themselves lacking the necessary stability. The lightweight feel of the shoe contributes positively to overall performance, reducing fatigue even during extended wear.
A standout feature is the seamless forefoot construction that significantly reduces the likelihood of irritation, which many athletes might encounter with traditional seams. This attention to detail ensures that you can focus solely on your run without distraction.
While there are limited color options available, the black/dark grey combination does offer a classic aesthetic that can match various workout gear.

Asics generally produces great shoes, and this pair is no exception. Fits well; after wearing them for about two months now, no noticeable discomfort (e.g. laces rubbing on tops of feet, tripping over toe box, Achilles rub) has been detected. They are relatively lightweight as well, which is great for the average workout, but I wouldn't necessarily recommend these shoes for seasoned runners. I have been running on both paved and gravel paths, and the shoes hold up well. However, the soles are a little thinner and harder than the "hardcore" runners' shoe brands such as Hoka, New Balance, or Sauconys. Therefore, if you're planning to consistently run for 10-mile stretches, I'd advise to look at other styles.Otherwise, I'm truly pleased with the quality, price, and fit of these shoes. Not being able to try them on before purchasing was a little different (I'd always been buying tennis shoes in-store), but these shoes are sturdy, comfortable, and stylish. Highly recommended for the active lifestyle; maybe not so much heavy runners, but they're great nonetheless!
I have been buying ASICS athletic shoes for over 20 years. I was so impressed by the 1st pair, mainly because of the Gel inserts. Over the years, they have continued to develop new materials and designs. They have also introduced so many new models, it's hard to keep track. The prices vary wildly, mainly because a lot of the shoes do not include the best of their materials or designs. If you are new to ASICS athletic shoes, dig through the details to ensure you're looking at a model that incorporates all of the best features. Obviously, the best ones come at a premium price. So, I had a pair of ASICS "work" shoes that were starting to wear-out. They were made to have a low-key appearance, that didn't draw attention to the fact that they were athletic shoes. Now I find out that ASICS discontinued the model. After some searching, I found these - Gel Quantum 180 4 Men's Running Shoe. They have all the best materials and design (including Gel inserts, front and rear). They are also black on black, which doesn't draw attention to them. The 1st pair I ordered were too small, which really surprised me. I went up one size, and they fit great. They are amazingly comfortable - like walking on a cloud. You have to experience them for yourself...
When I first pulled out these shows I was worried they wouldn't be comfortable. The shoes have a hard plastic like shell that doesn't seem very forgiving, I even put them on and thought this won't work. Although, I'm happy I decided to stick with it and wear them while walking the dog. These shoes are light, comfortable, and durable. They are now my most worn shoe, be it to the grocery store or walking the dog. I highly suggest these shoes, but keep in mind that they feel like plastic upon first inspection.
Aloha All! I ordered this pair of ASICS Gel quantum a few days ago because part of my physical therapy for my knee was to start jogging again. I havent jogged for over 8 years since my other knee surgery (due to one of my rescue pups taking out my meniscus and mcl, due to another dog not being on leash during a jog). Anyway I loved ASICS due to them being the only band with arch support that fit me, so when I saw these I was like, 'Hey those look good!' and purchased them off the name that I knew so well! Then I read the reviews on how a lot of runners found the back high and rubbing their ankles and achilles tendon raw and to the point of bleeding! I thought, 'oh crap I just wasted money!'So i wore them today for my PT being of 40 minutes recumbent bike, 15 minutes elliptical, AND for the first time in 8 years...my first jog (30 seconds jog, 30 seconds walk, and repeat for about 2 miles) and I have to say these shoes did not disappoint!! No heel, ankle, achilles tendon soreness whatsoever!!The shoe looks great, is light, the backing seems lower than in the pictures and didn't rub my Achilles at all. Now I know everyone's different so it may not be the same for all (I have skinny to normal ankles). If thinking outside the box, it may be my Bombas socks, they have a round cushioned ridge on the back by the achilles and that may have helped, anyway the shies works for me!! Hope they work as well for you! Aloha!!
These are my first pair of real running shoes. I’ve used Nike roshe for my little casual runs but now that I’m doing serious running I decided to look into other options. I was leaning more towards Nike zoom Pegasus or ASICS GT 2000 8 but found these for more than 50% and decided to give them a try. After a few runs and 10 miles later, I’ll say these definitely made a difference for me. Running with my roshes I would be sore for the next few days and my feet would ache but running with these I feel good. Casual soreness from the run but that’s about it. They are extremely comfortable and they are very light. I did see on the reviews that the back runs up against your heels. Now this doesn’t affect everyone from the looks of it but it definitely happens to me and my solution for that is to just put band aids on your heel. Once I did that the problem was gone. Now of course I shouldn’t have to do that but, the sneakers are here and I’ve been using them. I hate making returns and I hate dealing with that process. This quick fix makes these shoes great for me.Update: I ordered a pack of running socks from Amazon that go a little passed the top of my heel and that worked the same as putting the band aids there.
The shoes are true to size and they are so comfortable. I walk on concrete all day and these shoes are perfect. If you have any issues with your arches hurting at the end of the day, an insole fits in these just fine without making the shoe too small. These shoes clean up very easily with a soft brush and a little bit of water to take any dirt off.
