I’ve been running nearly 50 years, since my runner dad invited me to join him for a 5k in 1974. At first, I ran to stay in condition for soccer, but soon the running bug bit me, and the rest is history.I always buy either ASICS or Saucony because they fit me the best. I could not find a shoe I liked in my town, so I went on Amazon. I’ve had the Gel Cumulus before, and the price was good, so I went for it.Runner Description: Age 64, 3 knee surgeries in the 90’s, cancer 2014-15, tendency to have planters fasciitis, no longer runs anything longer than about 10 miles. Runs around 80-100 miles a month.Pluses:1. Very comfortable. Perfect fit for average or narrow feet. Run true to size. Great cushioning. I haven’t even used my planters’ inserts.2. Durable tread. I’ve run 80+ miles so far and they look new. The customers who had bad treads got defective shoe and could have exchanged them.3. Price. As good as any $100-$120 shoe at about half the price.Minuses:1. None so far.

To manufacturers: Want me to review your items, just let me know!I'm a true 11 in athletic shoes and these fit perfect. These Asics are light, relatively supportive but I really like the overall padding on the sides and back. The top fabric on the toe is a little thin meaning that after a lot of usage, you may wear through the top above the big toe but the tread and durability of this shoe exceeded what I have experienced in my previous Nikes. I now wait for sales on these Asics and always have a second pair waiting for use and I just bought another pair.I primarily use these for light workouts and especially walking and have been very pleased. Highly recommend these shoes. Even more so if you can catch a sale.
I have used different versions of the Cumulus since its early iterations in the late 90s. I run about 15-20 miles per week and have a mostly neutral gait. For the most part, the Cumulus series has been a consistently great shoe. This model peaked around the 20 and 21, both of which had a somewhat wider fit and absolutely superb cushioning. The 22 was a disappointment, with an undersized and excessively narrow fit. I am happy to report that these 23s feel like the 20s and 21s. They are again roomier and the cushioning is excellent.I noticed that ASICS is now up to a Cumulus 25, and that shoe is a disaster. Gone is the sleek, relatively low profile of the Cumulus of yore. Instead, it now looks like a Hoka with a huge chunky sole and an overinflated price. I guess ultracushioned shoes sell these days so ASICS jumped on the bandwagon and wrecked a perfectly good thing. Fortunately, older models of the Cumulus can still be found on this site at a decent price. After that, I guess I’ll be trying another brand. I have run in Saucony shoes before and likes those, so that’s probably what I’ll do.For now, pick up these 23s while you still can.

the adidas ultraboost 5.0 that is being replaced.I don't wear these shoes for exercising, I stand on concrete all day and don't really walk much and these shoes are very comfortable. These shoes were also significantly cheaper than the ultraboost was.
These light-weight shoes are ideal for running, they support a natural foot roll and offer good lateral support. The lighter material does wear out fairly quickly; however, I can usually get about 300 miles out of a pair before I have to replace them. For reference I am 5'10 and 178 lbs, so the shoes get some pounding along the way and after 300-miles they owe me nothing. I have tried more expensive shoes and keep coming back to these.
I've been buying these for a long time, but this time the shoes were cut more narrow than usual. Gave them to my son and ordered another Asics model - fit better.
This shoe doesn't have a good feel on the fit. There is far too much room in the toe box. There is a hot spot up against my 4th toe on the left shoe. A by product of where the upper binds to the sole. There is a ribbon of rubber around this area that runs the circumference of the shoe. The upper is comfortable material but it is interrupted where it meets the sole. The upper does not form well to my foot and thus it is sloppy. The sole is not in any way cushy or shock absorptive. It is hard. This is supposed to be a "Gel" heel but the gel is not soft or in any way like "a cloud". Which is part of the selling point. I've been running for years and have tried many different Band name shoe. Brooks, Hoka, Nike, NB, Adidas, etc. I tend to buy higher priced shoes and have found that you get what you pay for in a lot of cases. This is not an expensive shoe and it feels like it. Thought I would give this one a try as it is highly recommended by reviewers online for heel strikers. Maybe if you are an every once in a while runner or someone who is thinking about becoming a serious high mileage runner and wants to try something that is not terrible or terribly expensive. This might work for you. For me it was a waste of money. I will donate them. They only have about 30 miles on them. Someone may get some good use out of them. Disappointed....
