If you're seeking a road running shoe that doesn't compromise on comfort or performance, the ALTRA Women's Rivera 3 could be your perfect match. The Altra EGO foam gives you an energetic bounce, making long-distance runs feel less daunting. One standout characteristic is the FootPod Technology; it really does allow your feet to move naturally without restrictions, reducing fatigue even on longer runs.
The balanced cushioning system encourages correct running posture, which can be beneficial for avoiding injuries associated with improper foot placement. As someone who has spent hours pounding the pavement, I appreciate how important this factor is.
Flexibility is another area where the Rivera 3 shines, thanks to the InnerFlex midsole technology. Whether you’re sprinting down a straightaway or navigating through turns, these shoes adapt effortlessly. However, do keep in mind that some may prefer a snugger fit, as these shoes can run slightly larger. In terms of aesthetics, the black and purple colorway is both striking and sophisticated, perfect for daily wear beyond just running.

I recently bought four pairs of shoes - I work in a medical office and had been wearing the same shoes for years and years and it was time. These are my favorite. They fit great, they are perfect for Florida weather, and they are the most comfortable.
I don't usually go for shoes with a lot of midsole. These aren't as "fluffy" as Hoka shoes... but pretty cushy. I have a difficult fit, very high arches, narrow heel and prefer a wide toe box. These actually work very well for me. I can lace them securely and they don't twist around my foot if I land on an uneven surface. My heels don't come up/out. I cannot remove them without unloving them - that's a first for me. The toe box is very wide (almost looks a goofy, actually), and my toes can spread out & stabilize my foot. I absolutely love these, glad I finally bought them.I will say that I didn't put my orthotics inside... as the insole & midsole break down, I might. For now they seem good enough for short runs & walking.
I have narrow feet and always have to pull the shoe strings incredibly tight on shoes. However with these shoes I don’t have to! The heel is narrow as well as the body of the shoe. I wear a size 10 in Brooks and bought a size 10 in these. They are a little short but not enough to send back.
Shoe laces are way to short, shoe was very snug/tight. Still thinking about returning them.
Love these shoes! So comfortable!
These are nice looking shoes. I wear 9, always get 9.5 in tennis shoes, and these rub slightly on the tips of my toes. Altra is my go to for zero drop, wide toe shoes for work because I have small bunions. Unfortunately these do not have a wide toe box, my foot is pretty narrow and the shoes feels snug. Laces are not nearly long enough.
Comfy and fits true to size. Love the color and feel!
Great shoe! I'm a 9.5 in almost every shoe. Ordered 9.5, it was huge. Returned that pair and got a 9. Still too big. However, it's a really cool show with lots of cushioning, low drop, and nice wide toe box. Next time I'd order an 8.5 (whole size down from usual).
