The ALTRA Women's Provision 6 offers an impressive combination of comfort and performance that is hard to beat. The use of Altra EGO foam gives runners a plush yet responsive ride, making it suitable for both short jogs and long-distance training.
One of the standout features is its Balanced Cushioning system, which helps promote natural foot positioning and encourages a low-impact running style. This can be especially beneficial for individuals looking to avoid injuries from improper stride mechanics.
Moreover, the InnerFlex midsole technology ensures that the shoe adapts well to various terrains while still providing necessary support. The stack height of 30mm offers ample cushioning, making it perfect for those longer runs where fatigue can set in.
However, some users have reported needing a slight adjustment period to fully appreciate the shoe's fit and performance, particularly if transitioning from a different brand. Additionally, the slightly narrower fit may not accommodate every foot shape comfortably.

Perfect fit, so comfortable. I wear these daily.Super cute. My feet don’t hurt anymore.
There’s no better running shoe on the market. Super comfortable and the wide toe-box allows for your toes to splay naturally. Can’t beat these shoes!
Light and comfortable. Fits true to size.
I have had five foot surgeries. Seriously messed up feet. All that scar tissue has created some issues with shoes. Thankfully I live in Texas where 8 months out of the year I just wear sandals. So for the colder months I do need something that is supportive and not too ugly. I have worn Nike, Brooks, ASICS, Adidas, New Balance and Vionic. I also have Skechers. These really are a game changer due to the VERY ample toe box. There is absolutely no rubbing across the top of my toes or pinky toe. The support is like having a custom fit orthotic already in place. But be warned… this is not a memory foam feel. It isn’t squishy. More like wearing a Birkenstock if they made sneakers. But my feet and knees love them. I used to be a runner but not in several years due to all of the other problems. I will definitely be ordering a second pair of these ASAP.
If you have big wide feet like me, Altra has been the go to athletic shoe. But they have been getting away from that, so you really need to read the fit specs and reviews. This particular shoe is supposed to be 11 W, but it's really like a 10.5 normal width. OK for short gym sessions but a little tight for more extended times. Also the inner sole is not as soft as I expected. So I'm going to use these for going to town trips. The gray/teal color combo is cuter than most colors altra has been offering lately. I will stick to the Lone Peak for hiking, walking, etc. It's the only style that has remained true size and fit over the years and provides enough room to stay comfortable.
My husband has worn Altra’s for as long as I can remember, and after complaining to him about shin splints and IT Band pain, he suggested I research a pair of Altra’s to help with my specific issues. I’m so glad I did! I’ve been suffering for so long for no reason. These really do help with the pain- I just got them yesterday and have already been 10 miles in them. No shin or IT pain! They have a thick sole which is wonderful and cushioned and I can tell the shoe helps to guide my body into correct placement. I have flat feet to they really are helping and I did NOT put in my custom orthotics. To address a few issues I’ve read from others:Sizing- I’m usually a 7.5. I bought this in both a 7.5 and an 8 to compare and I sent the 8’s back. I can see why if you have wide feet people say to order a size up, I do not have wide feet, I’d say I’m on the narrow side even with flat feet. The squeak- yes they make a sound while walking, (the alignment technology on the bottom that guides you to correct placement) however, I think the more you wear them and they mold to your feet that will stop. I didn’t feel they were as noisy today as yesterday. The arch support: just like custom orthotics, take your time wearing them so to not cause discomfort. I didn’t find it to hurt or irritate, I just notice that they help my feet!Honestly, I will buy these again and I wish they made slippers because I want to wear them around the house because I just feel better in them! (My fur baby likes them too! 😘)
*I don’t use these to run* I work in healthcare and bought them because my feet were hurting at the end of the day. My feet don’t hurt anymore and they are so comfy!
Feels like my foot is too wide in the heel and ankle, which doesn't make any sense. I have narrow feet everywhere except the toes. To me, it feels like the side of my heels is sticking out wider than the shoes. I love Altra's, generally, but I have to return these shoes.
