I keep buying the Altra Torin for the comfort, style and high quality eventhough they are somewhat overpriced. I particularly like this colorcombo Blue/Yellow which is hard to find at even top end retailersfor running shoes. Oh much better than the weird shaped Hoka'swhich for me turned out to be a waste of money.
I found these shoes to be excellent on my initial test. No break in needed. I really do feel my entire foot being used during the run from landing to toe off compared to other shoe brands. The only similar shoe brand to altras in low drop and feel would be newton promoting the forefoot landing pad.
The are my fist pair of Altra's so I was not sure what to expect other than the fact that they had a wide toe box which is crucial for my drifting hallux valgus so these were an important purchase. They work well although I am not used to so much foam, I normally have a smaller drop. The shoes can hit the lower edge of my ankles which isn't off putting but something I am no used to again. So far they are a good buy.
Just a week in, but I think this is a great shoe from Altra. Neutral--no intrusive support or control. Very cush without being too smushy. Breathable and well-fitting uppers. Laces should be a couple inches longer, but otherwise very excellent.
My first pair broke an eyelet hole. My second pair developed holes in the heal cup and gave me blisters within two month.Went straight into the trash.
This is the most comfortable shoe that I've ever owned. It's tied with the 4.5s that I bought 2.5 years ago and still own.
Love the wide toe box and the cushion
I was extremely disappointed with the ALTRA Men's Torin 7 Road Running Shoe. Not only were they not true to size, but they were also surprisingly narrow. Wearing them was a painful experience as they hurt my feet. I had no choice but to return them, and I wouldn't recommend these shoes to anyone looking for comfort and accurate sizing.
