These waterproof boots are really comfortable, easy to put on and take off, and seem well made. They have great traction even on wet grass and leaves.
I have a 15 year long history with these "type" of boots. Like most, I started with the old style rubber boots. In winter, out came the heavy rubber pacs. Almost a decade ago, I found and moved up to a wonderful and comfortable sportsman's boot (AlphaBurly Sport). Wanting an insulated companion that would go on/off easily for the colder months and for going to get wood, the mail, the chicken eggs, or whatever, I bought some "Arctic Sport" boots sold by a Bogs competitor. I had them for 4 years and quite frankly hated them. For me, my normal size 10 fit like a sloppy mess, about as comfortable as wearing the shoebox itself. They had such heel rub that they would work my socks down as I walked in them. You'd think the extra gaps would help at least keep the warmth by trapping the air but no - they were cold below 20 degrees if you weren't moving. So when the toe area split from the sole a couple of weeks ago, I grinned. The Bogs Ultra Mid replaced them and so far, so very good. They fit true to size with my other shoes and boots. They are comfortable to walk in and don't try to pull my socks down or excessively rub my heel. They're easier to get on and off. These mids are just the right height. They can allow for pants tucked in or pants tucked over. The handles aren't necessary but don't bother me. Personally I'd have rather had the extra 2 inches of side coverage. I tested them outside and while I was not sedentary, they were very warm. The tread type will prevent tracking inside, although they are so easy to take off that I really shouldn't wear them in the house anyway. I wouldn't go hiking in them if I could pick something else with more support. These are SO much better than the other model I chucked. The longevity is yet to be seen (I hate seeing made in "China") but all other systems are a go. My praise at home has my wife now considering one of the colorful pairs. These are exactly what this type of boot should be: comfortable, warm, easy on/off, weatherproof boot that puts function first.
Okay, you usually have to order a size larger than you normally wear, but then the fit is as comfortable as your favorite slippers. Bogs go everywhere and keep your feet warm and dry. I live in Wisconsin, have horses. I bought these bogs for my husband. I wear the ladies version. This is his second pair in this style. He loves them. He wore his all winter long and his feet stayed warm. Odd thing. You can wear them in very warm weather too. We do both have lower style bogs for the hottest months, but these still keep your feet comfortable even in the heat. They are durable too, considering the number of hours we spend in them every day. We love our bogs and this style is particularly comfortable and easy to pull on and slip out of. Best boot for the money, as far as we are concerned, especially if you live in the country
Hubby needed a waterproof boot to wear while walking the dog. Not only on rainy days but when there’s a heavy dew in the mornings. These are perfect. Hubby likes the tab on back to help remove the boot. They’re the perfect height for walking in the yard, he didn’t need these for deep water. The cutout handles are great for pulling the boots in with ease. These are insulated so he said his feet gets hot unless it’s below 40° outside. However for the short amount of time he wears these daily they’re fine. We definitely recommend these and will buy more of the save when these wear out.
I tried 3 different styles of boots before I found these. I think that the overall value of these boots for their price is outstanding.I am a suburban Dad who lives in Madison, Wisconsin so we get a fair amount of cold and snow. I am not spending long hours outside or anything but I have always hated having to sit down to lace up boots each time I come in or out of the house. You can literally just step into these and walk out the door. If you have larger calves, you might have to use the built-in handles but they are really nice. The boots also have a little rubber notch on the heel so you can easily take them off using the opposite toes without having to bend down. I find the boots to be warm and comfortable -I have never had to sit outside for hours in them but I think they are good for clearing the driveway or hanging around outside as long as you are somewhat active. Other items to consider: they are pretty big and a little clunky -these are not high fashion but they aren't crazy big or anything and they look like they are of good quality. You have to decide whether to tuck your pants into them or pull them over the outside (my jeans have been fitting outside when I go that route). I think the sizing is about right. The tread is super durable but just average when it comes to traction. I recently bought Bogs for my wife and 5 year old too so that says something. Overall excellent value.
Nice boots, fit fine. Easy on, good quality.
Why are these the best boots ever?1) These are the most comfy boots I have ever worn, heck they're more comfortable than any of my shoes!2) The temperature is never too hot or too cold, regardless of external temperature!3) They are 100% waterproof, walk all you want through puddles and shallow water, and your feel stay dry!4) They move with your feet and legs easily, the stretchy part up by your calves moves with you no matter how you move.5) They come with a "midsole" that prevents them from getting stinky, but this is easily removable if you prefer just the insole (either of which are comfy, though I prefer just the insole!)6) The handles make it easy to put on, and there is a bump on the back by your heel which helps immensely in taking them off!7) I haven't used it in icy conditions yet, but so far they have never slipped at all on any surface I've walked on, wet or dry.Seriously, if you need boots, these are the ones to get.
They have great longevity because they’re well made and very comfortable.
