I’ve ruined 2 or 3 pairs of sneakers over the last few years working in my garden. I decided to purchase “Wellies” and found these on Amazon the price was right. I’ve only had them fo about a month but have already slogged through snow mud and rain with no problems I loved the way they slip on so easily too. If they get too muddy, I can hose them off without a problem.
The boots are great overall. I choose the thin ones with the handles as I owned another pair (lost pair when moving) that were thicker without handles. They do fit a little big, so go for the size down, as I wear a 10.5 and I went with a 10 after I originally ordered the 11 size. Great return policy via amazon. Very comfortable and work great with synthetic wool socks to keep blisters away and stay warm & dry from sweat.
Now that I've had them for a good period of time, I can say they are very comfortable except I can feel every rock, stick and stone. They slip.on and odd very easy, but the soles are just a little too thin
I spray some very dark chemicals Humic Acid and this stains anything that is not black. Also needed to benefit from a taller boot too. Not too much boot to walk in very thick turf type Tall Fescue that is 5" high spraying often. Doesn't feel like it wants to come off and doesn't require but one finger to get on with the nice loops at the top to hang onto. I could wear a thick sock to take up more space but wear whatever I have and it's not a problem. I see these boots lasting a long time by not storing outside in the direct sun or excessive heat. I had looked at a cheap pair at the big box store but they only look like boots.. Just a little more and you got the real thing....hahahh
Easy to get on and off (but wear socks). High enough to keep ticks away (I hope/think). Opening wide enough to go over loose jeans. Great for gardening and other outdoor activities (but probably not baseball or football).
I first ordered the size 13, which was too tight, I then ordered the size 14, which was too big. They dont have a size 13.5 so that was a let-down. Shoe shopping for me is always a challenge, my feet don't have arches and generally shoe SHAPES don't conform to my feet so unless I use inserts to make them fit right or have shoes custom made, I have to compromise by having a shoe that is too big or too small. The quality of the rubber does well on the calf, ankle, and top part of the foot, however this rubber material does not fair well on the sole of the shoe because it wears down quickly. These boots are made to be worn in wet environments, but the bottom part of the shoes wear out making it slippery on wet pavement or concrete. Part of the grip of the shoe is created by the zig-zag pattern and this gives the displaced water a path to exit from underneath the shoe. This won't happen if the grooves have flatted out from wearing out. I can say that after 3 months of wearing them in wet situations, I didn't wear them in dry situations, I only wore them on specific days for temporary amounts of time, the soles still wore out.I probably would have been more satisfied with a different brand that was made to fit my foot and used a different material on the soles.Suggestion: choose a harder more durable stiffer composite rubber for the bottom sole of the shoe that contacts the ground so that it doesn't wear too quickly and maintains grip. Also offer half-sizes. Offer shoes made with arch support.I will not buy these again, while I do think they are an adequate product that gets the job done.
The fit was just great for me, by ordering same size as my usual shoe size. These replaced an old set of boots that had lasted 30 years or so, but were not real comfortable overall. I was glad to have an excuse to buy a new set of boots!
I feel something must have happened to the quality of the manufacturing of this boot, as many of the recent reviews seem to indicate the same problems I have had. I was originally drawn to this boot due to the overall high review score. I purchased these boots in Feb-Mar of 2021 and the boots have seen very little use. I'd say I may have worn them 6 times. Long story short, the rubber soles of this boot are extremely thin, even compared to some $20 boots I have owned. There is also very little support in the boots. The insoles provided are also very thin, so you put the two together and it feels like you can feel any thing you walk on. It feels as if there is no barrier between the bottom of your feet and the surface you are walking on. To top it off, I was standing in a puddle of water and the right boot leaked. This only after 6 or so uses. This leak was immediately obvious as the water wicked quickly through my sock. I am VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH THE QUALITY of this boot and feel that the average review score is CERTAINLY NOT INDICATIVE OF THE CURRENT BOOT'S QUALITY.BUYER BE VERY WARE.
