Excellent slip on boots

PROS: o Keep my feet warm and dry o Very comfortable o Soles seem to have very good tractionCONS: o Made in ChinaOTHER: o Very snug fittingI have a pair of New Balance 640's (also made in China) that I bought several years ago, which I use to go to the mailbox and do quick outdoor chores, and I've been happy with them. They are truly a "slip on"; I can stick my feet into them without needing to bend over and use my hands to assist. After I got the basement entrance installed, I wanted another pair of slip ons to keep downstairs. I considered getting another pair of the 640's, but decided I wanted something waterproof, so I started searching. I came across these Bogs slip ons (or more accurately to my way of thinking, pull ons), and the reviews were all very positive, so I figured I'd give them a try. The first time I put them on, I was a bit taken aback by how tight they seemed and it took much more than "slipping" my feet into them, so I decided to use them a while before I reached a verdict and wrote this review. And, I'm glad I did... after a few wearings, I have decided that these are exactly what I needed! They seem like they have loosened up just a tiny bit (but that could just be wishful thinking) but are still very snug fitting, but that's not a bad thing. The soles seem to be very non-slip, and they keep my feet dry and warm and are very comfortable. I haven't worn them for an extended period of time, or to do anything but quick trips outside to dump the ash bucket, or similar quick chores. But I am now absolutely satisfied that these are a wonderful boot that I will enjoy for hopefully many years to come. They are a low boot so obviously would not do well in snow deeper than say 6 inches, but in those instances a slip on isn't what you want anyway. The only observation I would make is that the little "pull straps" on the heel appear to be vital to my being able to get these on without the use of a shoehorn. I have a very high instep, which makes getting pull-on boots on and off very difficult for me. I have a pair of Ranger Insulated Steel Toe Mid Pac Rubber Oil Rigger Boots that I like (plus they are made in the US!!!) and it is murder to get them on and off. So I hope the pull straps last as long as the boots. Worst case I guess I'll have to hunt up a shoehorn. Just thought I'd mention this in case you have a high instep, too. Anyhow, high instep or not, I don't believe anyone could "slip" these on...

4 Months later and I still love them`

I have been through dozens of different shoes and shoe styles trying to find the right balance of comfort and support for work. I am a Owner/project manager of a residential construction company in NJ. We see weather from 0 to 100 degrees, rain, snow, oppressive heat etc. These have been great in all conditions. I like several things particularly about them. 1) They slip on/off. This makes it very convenient when you are constantly between the mud and a kitchen table in a clients 2 million dollar house. 2) They have worn better than expected. I was concerned that they would fit well when new, but stretch out over time like every other slip-on shoe I tried. They haven't at all, they still fit great and the soles are wearing slowly and evenly and I have no holes or worn out spots on them after 4 months of heavy duty use. 3) They keep my feet dry. I figured they would stay dry on rainy days, but they've exceeded my expectations for puddles and mud (snow is right around the corner). They also keep my feet dry and comfortable in the heat of the summer. I was afraid black rubber shoes would be unbearably hot in the summer months. They weren't in the least. 4) They are taller than most slip-ons. I have been through many of the Merrell-type low slip-on hiking shoes. These give actual ankle support and lend themselves to keeping your feet drier. I could go on and on but I think you get the point. Oh, did I mention I'm a size 16?! Thank you so much BOGS for making my size and particulary for making such a good product in my size. I will definitely be reordering when the time comes. I'm so nervous they will stop making them that I'm thinking about stocking up now. haha

There shoes are badass, your feet will be comfy and warm no matter what.

This is my second pair of bogs shoes and they are excellent. There is only issue with my first pair cracks developed in the medial and latera portions of the shoe right about where your tarsals start, aka right where your toes begin. This happened about 50 days into owning my first pair. Originally Amazon wasn't going to take them back but I said $ 100 is way to much to spend on a product that only lasts 50 days and they gave me a new pair. These are excellent because they fit snug around the shoe opening so if you walk in deep snow or splash in water it doesn't go into your shoe. On an extremely cold day it's awesome to have a pair of shoes that can slip on in 20 seconds instead of bulk boots that are difficult to don or take off and you feet will never be cold no matter what. The inserts are thick comfy and can easily be removed for cleaning but are not sloppy inside the shoe. Because these are neoprene, thicker than a 7mm wetsuit and even if you get some water inside your feet will still not be cold. Then can easily be cleaned off by rinsing gently with tap water. Do not wear anything more than 1 thin pair of socks otherwise your feet will sweat. There to warm for me to wear inside. If your feet seem to be perpetually cold in winter than my prescription for you is get a pair of BOGS NOW, they are penicillin for your feet. I Give them 4.75 Stars

Great!

These shoes fit a bit tight but I think that is a benefit. They are a slip on shoe so I would not want them being too loose. I've only worn them twice. Once they are broken in I'm sure they'll fit a bit better. These kept my feet warm and stood up to 4 inches of snow. Hopefully I won't ruin as many pairs of dress shoes this winter since I now have these as an option. I've worn them the entire day at an office environment with dark dress pants and didn't get too many second glances. Exactly what I was looking for.,** UPDATE 4/8/15** I just wanted to update my review because I think these are so great. I've worn them throughout the winter on snowy days and have also been wearing them on construction sites. They are holding up very well. They are easy to keep clean (hose them off) and they have really conformed to my foot. I can slip them on and off yet they don't move while walking. I LOVE THESE!
