Went on a pheasant hunt in wet conditions and my feet stayed dry and was very comfortable. So far so good
I wear size 10 D(M) in my Altama and my Original SWAT boots. Ordered these in size 10 also. I consider them a great fit. Snug in the instep and across the cuboid/cuneiform area and in the heel-keeps the boots firmly on my foot even in sticky mud, yet the toe box is nice and roomy-helps keep your feet warm when your toes can move. I have not had a foot sweating problem in spite of the fact that they are warm boots-even when the temperatures are in the 40's. I really like the kick off lug on the back of the boot in the achilles/heel area. Greatly facilitates taking the boot off by using the other boot/foot. The boot opening is 16+ inches and my calf is 16+ inches yet I can still tuck my pants into the top because of the stretch of the upper neoprene. The soles seem to have adequate grip in the snow and slop (have not ice tested them however)-the tread is designed as a compromise so the mud does not stay impacted into the tread in the soles-kind of self cleaning as you keep moving and much easier to get the mud out by stomping or kicking something. I have had boots that had a severe tread design, but with clay type soils after a few steps the mud builds up so bad that the severe tread design was of no help, so I do like the sole tread design of the Bogs Classics. So far the waterproof claim is correct-makes it handy when needing to hose them off. I am 60+ years old and have seen a lot of footwear. As I took these out of the box and got a good look and handled them I thought they were very well and thoughtfully designed for their intended uses and if they fit correctly then smiles all around. All expectations have been met or exceeded for me and my uses around animals and in the results of inclement weather. Two more items for clarification-1) As I talked about fit, I wear these boots with what I call a crew sock not a thick or bulky sock and 2) the boots are "Made in China".
I just ordered a pair of these boots and could not be more impressed. I live in Northern MN and am an avid outdoorsman. Many of my bow hunting spots require wading through angle deep water. For this reason, I need to wear something 100% waterproof. Problem is, my feet always get cold when not moving due to poor circulation. I have been looking for something waterproof, warm, light, and not too tight around the calfs (I have pretty big calf’s). I went to multiple sporting good stores and tried on every name brand and generic boot. Price was not a consideration. If I found something that met my needs I was willing to pay top dollar. Nothing worse than trying to save a penny and then regret it. I actually found one pair of Lacro**boots that I liked, but after getting them home they just felt narrow... I returned them and decided to give these a try. I didn’t have the luxury of trying them on before ordering, but the local sporting good store had a similar boot made by Bogs so I ordered whatever size fit best in those, which ended up being a 12. I wear a 11.5, so these boots fit pretty true. If you are on the fence of what size to get, size up and not down. These boots are super warm, unbelievably comfortable and very light. You honestly don’t feel like you are wearing boots at times. You can also tell they are built strong. They don’t feel cheap and I am guessing they will last a while. I tested them walking through snow and the traction is excellent. I plan on testing their warmth this weekend, as I will be sitting 10 hours straight for two days during deer opener in Minnesota. We are also expected to get a bunch of snow, so they will get tested. If you are looking for a boot with similar needs to mine, these are definitely the boots to get.
Overall, I really like this boot. It’s constructed well and they fit comfortably (albeit a little larger than other footwear of same size. I’ve worn them all day working around the yard and wet and sloppy conditions. My feet stayed warm and dry and the boot was comfortable during all day where. The only reason I give them four stars is due to the traction when walking on smooth concrete. With the boot wet and walking on my garage floor, I had a tendency to slip/slide on the smooth surfaced concrete. I suspect they will be even more slick on ice, but I have not had the opportunity to use them in snow or on ice to date. Overall I’m very happy with the construction and quality.
These are my go to winter boots. You can just step into them. I usually wear a 10 but went with the 11 as was suggested. They are a touch big but still support and do not irritate my feet. They are not for long days sitting in freezing weather but are fine if you are moving around. Not too heavy.
These are very comfortable and keep the sweaty feet to a minimum when wearing all day in 40-50 degree temperatures. Bought a 30 dollar pair of rubber boots and my feet would get cold due to socks getting wet from sweat. True to size, I wear a size 10 sneaker and these fit perfectly.
These boots are fantastic for keeping your feet warm while out in inclement conditions. Pair these up with a pair of Yak Trax for icy conditions.
Great boot
