These shoes are tough enough for work and look great. I actually wore a pair to a wedding once--they are way more comfortable than my brown dress shoes. The steel toe makes the front wear a little quicker than the rest of the shoe--like a work boot. I have very wide, flat feet and bunions--this is the best fitting shoe i have found, and can fit an arch support if i choose. I can get a year of 10 hour shifts on my feet out of one pair with a bit of care, replacement laces and insoles. The old pair is great for working around the garage etc..
I love this shoe! I have had these for the past 3-4 years and they are still going. I use them to ride to work daily, dressing for church, walking. I use them for everything and the soles are soft so I can stand and walk long. They are steel toes so my feet are safe. Durable leather exterior. Only aging effects are by the top of the back where the plastic has been worn out.
I purchased these shoes in January of 2015 and have been wearing them for about 20 hours a week on a normal basis. Initially the heel rubbed a bit however, I expected that having read other reviews about this. As the shoes have broken in, that went away. They are very comfortable work shoes. In the time period I have owned them, I have had about 6 weeks total of 12 plus hour days in these shoes with the longest continuous 12 plus hour days being over two weeks. These shoes were very comfortable through that length on time. As others have commented, they do not breath very well so your feet will start to feel that affect after a few days and your nose will start to notice it as well after a while if you have several long days in these. As a point of reference, I don't have foot odor issues on a normal basis.Another positive for me is the arch support. I typically have to replace most of my shoes insoles with Superfeet or Sole insoles to get the arch support my feet need. I have not had to that with these shoes. Even after long days I have worn these, the arch support is above average which has been a very welcomed surprise. One thing I am impressed with is how much these do not look like safety shoes to me and others. They do have a bit more bulk than a normal lace-up oxford shoe however the shoes do not have the typical safety shoe bulk. Putting aside the lack of breathability, these shoes are really a good choice and would recommend them to others.
Love them! Nice casual but ideal work shoe!
The shoes fit perfectly (recommend buying your normal size; these aren't too big/small). However, as noted in other reviews, I can see where the design does leave a bit to be desired. You can visually see where the safety toe material ends because it leaves a line in the leather. Also this transition protrudes a bit on the side. After heavy use, I expect both of these areas to become more and more visible. Will probably keep them because they do seem comfortable, but I'm prepared to need to replace them in a year or so.
The sole has started to separate from the shoe after only 1.5 months of wear in a light factory environment. They are very comfortable. Just don’t seem to last.
I really like the Timberland Pro Gladstone Oxfords. The shoes fit well, and will clearly stand up to a lot and last a long time. They're similar to other Timberland Oxfords I've had. They arrived early, in perfect condition. Overall, this was a great experience.
I work on my feet on a concrete floor. I have been wearing various models of Timberland's PRO Oxfords for about a decade now. These seem to be sturdily built like the other models (I can usually get about 2.5 years of use from a single pair), and they are fairly lightweight with a sturdy steel toe.
