Very happy with the quality, comfort, and value I have experienced with these boots so far. Writing this only a couple weeks after purchase so time will tell if initial impressions remain true.I have worn the same Redwing model boot for the past almost 20 years, replacing them ever 2+ years because they begin to leak. They are literally twice the price of these (although these are not cheap either!). I always considered them worth the money because they are so comfortable, durable, waterproof up to the top of the boot (8" as well as these), highly puncture resistant, and resist all kinds of chemicals, and have the much needed safety toe. I also love the speed lace section at the top.I work in construction running heavy equipment. In the Spring and Fall I am regularly in mud or puddles well over the ankles. Also walk on things like demolition concrete, asphalt, and even glass (which has syringes and other hazardous items) throughout the year. Puddles at our yard can contain hazardous chemicals. I never give a second thought to my boots until I feel a little dampness - time to get another pair of $400 boots! This time I decided to try to find something similar but less expensive - very hard to do!! I bought another brand before these Timberland Pro's and it didn't go well! They were not quite the same as they didn't have the speed laces (didn't realize how much time I saved not having to lace up the last 3 spots every time!) I had to return 2 pair: 1st pair had a tear near a seam (which let in chemicals from a puddle which burned my foot!), and the 2nd pair leaked within 2 weeks! They were also 1/4 the price of the RedWings. Time to try again.Found these after much searching and they are an ideal substitute with the speed laces, safety toe, waterproof, puncture resistant, etc. I was hoping for them to be lighter than the RedWings (6.4lbs for both boots total), but they are exactly the same. First observation opening the box was that to me they do look like they are 1/2 the price of the RedWings, but mainly because the leather is not smooth. The fit is excellent and true to size. I have to say after a couple days of break-in, they are super comfortable and more like hikers than the 'Wings. Even though they are the exact same weight, they FEEL lighter! I have put them through the paces and up to near the top in water/mud with no problem at all! I don't know how they will fare for puncture resistance yet, but I'm confident they will be fine. The pattern on the sole is excellent for traction (even in snow/ice) but at the same time they clean off pretty easily which helps keep the cab of the excavator clean!Overall, very happy and highly recommend! Seem to be a $400 boot for only $200 that's even more comfortable - can't go wrong there!
Great improvement from previous Timberland boots that my husband purchased about 10 years ago. He said these boots are probably the best boots he's worn in 20 yrs at his job working 12hr shifts 5 or 6 days a week totalling about 65hrs a week. He was very irritated that i bought them because of the problems he had with his previous pair but is so happy now that I did. He didn't get any blisters like you usually do with new boots. He said the comfort, support, durability, quality, is far better than boots twice this price. He said the boots offer great ankle, arch, heel & back support. They are a lil heavier than any boot he's worn but the support is worth it when you're standing on cement all day. He said the steel toe & puncture resistant technology has kept him from foot injury twice already. Great traction & moisture control as needed for his job where its extremely hot & sweaty almost year round. It feels like he's walking on a cushion and his feet now last all day without throbbing instead of killing him after 6hrs. He wants me to purchase another pair in case he cant find them when they eventually wear out. He said he bends, squats, lifts and turns and the boots allow you to move without giving up the support to keep you from losing your balance! Amazing boots!!
) - no more steel toe pain. I can wear these for 16 hours straight and don't have a single complaint. The SOCKS were the biggest help. The insoles were probably going a little overboard, but since I was almost never on level ground, my feet were shifting inside the boots. Try walking on 2" gravel strewn about a concrete floor for 30 minutes and see how your feet feel. Add insoles and try it again. The 8" height also adds some ankle support, and that helps as well.I've worn these for about 250 hours and can't imagine exploring without them.
Great Boot Crafted Well
