Simplicity = MediumUtility = HighValue = HighOverall 4.5 at $45.00 or LessSomewhat simple. Lacing shoes is made more difficult by having no eyelets. Tightening laces requires more pull. Loosening shoes is more difficult as untying does not overcome the friction of the laces to the fiber holes. Shoes must be manually loosened by prying open when taking off. Pulling the tongue out of the way and using a shoe horn is required to put them on.Utility is high. Very light weight and grippy. Very comfortable. Soles have lots of surface area o grab, but pebbles and small rocks will sick in the fine openings, dragging these items from the outside. For longest sole life, recommend wearing for a week and seeing where the sole wears. Apply a bit of Shoe Goo to those areas to protect from fast wear.Value is extremely high at $46.00 or less.
I’m just now getting my second pair. I owned a pair before and loved them, I am excited to have another pair (and this pair is EE and actually fits my feet. I couldn’t find that in the store).I’m a low voltage electrician and have had good luck with these shoes. I average between 9,000 and 10,000 steps on any given day. Up and down ladders and on all kinds of terrain. The good. They’re warm enough when it’s cold out but they aren’t too hot in a 80 degree day. They’re comfortable. They feel like tennis shoes mostly. I’ve pinched my toe on occasion leaning the wrong way, but rarely. They are tough enough. They lasted a good year before I started to notice any real significant wear. The bad?Not much? The wear started with the sole separating from the upper, under the inside toe. That’s after a year. I didn’t baby them. They lasted another 6 months before I really just couldn’t justify having them on my truck and I threw them out.I’m happy to have a new pair.
I've owned these shoes for 11 months and worn them every shift at work. My shifts are 12-hours walking on steel and concrete in a food manufacturing plant for 7 days out of every 14. Over 3,600,000 steps in that time - about 1,500 miles. I'm almost 300lbs (135kg) - so that's a lot of stress for work shoes.Except for some tightness around my big toe in the toe box and also using Dr. Scholl's inserts - I have had no issues with the comfort in these shoes. A little bit of the toe cap leather is beginning to peel back and some rubbing off of the material at the back of the ankle is the only real wear and tear outside of expected tread wear.If I didn't have an annual clothing stipend, I could wear these at least another year before purchasing a new pair. As it stands, these will be my back-ups until they wear out.For those looking at mid-rise work shoes at an affordable price, this is a good choice.
this is my second pair, not because i wore out the first, just that i found these on amazon at a great pricethese shoes are by far one of the best shoes/boots i have ever worn. they are steel toe which might be important to some, and in my former professional life would have been a must. many times steel toe boots or shoes can feel a bit uncomfortable and/or heavy, these are neither, they are very comfortable and do not feel heavy at all.the insoles are really the big selling point for me, they allow for standing for hours on concrete without leg/foot pain.i have to say these are second to the old "high test" boots of 30 years ago, long since gone, they had the best insoles known to man, and for whatever reason those insoles are not available anywhere else, that is until now with these sketchers, which are a very close second in my opinion.if you need steel toe shoes, that wear very well, are very comfortable, you could do much worse that these sketchers, i for one would highly recommend these shoes.
Bought these for my husband for work- he loves them! They are comfortable enough to walk in all day and are extremely warm if outside on colder days. My husband uses them for not only work, but to shovel snow & his feet always stay dry. Good buy if you are in need of new boots!
This makes my 3rd pair. Great fit and really comfortable right out of the box! This pair feels just like the old ones I just stepped out of.
Very comfortable but completely fell apart. No way to get ahold of anyone.
These are so comfortable. Wore them 16 days straight for work and feet never hurt. Order 1/2 size smaller then you normally wear. Perfect fit.
