My husband is very hard on shoes but these hold up great fir him and he says they are very comfortable.
Only negative thing I can say about these shoes are the tiny laces that are included with the shoes. Almost the formal shoe strings that are tiny and barely long enough to get tied. I immediately bought a better pair of laces for these. Shipping took a bit longer than normal Amazon items. Shipped and took almost a week to get here.
Purchased these for my boyfriend because he “needs” the green tag on his shoes as a carrier. They fit as expected, but he found they took a bit to break in. If you have a walking route, definitely break them in on off hours a few days before use. As for the longevity, our guess is about 6-8 months, but that is much longer than the pair purchased previously for the job (which lasted all but 4 and were definitely not safe for use by then). Seem to be well built. I’ll update the review after a few months of wear.
After two weeks of wearing this shoe, the sole delaminated -- came off -- the upper part of the shoe, as shown in the picture. The shoes also squeaked with each step. The laces are as thin as fishing line and too short to tie. I had to buy regular laces. These shoes also are very heavy and clunky, compared to the Brooks Walkers I have been wearing for years. The manufacturer, "Rocky," did not respond to my messages. Fortunately, Amazon remedied the situation.
I have a job that keeps me on my feet all day. When I got into my 30s, my feet started letting me know that I had to buy good shoes, and that my days of cheap K-Mart shoes had hurt me. I had developed a case of plantar fascitis that left me on some days almost unable to stand, let alone walk. I truly thought I had a serious problem on my hands. A friend who's a postmaster suggested purchasing postal certified shoes. It was a very positive life-changing moment.I've purchased Bates postal oxfords for the past 10 years. They're not cheap, but they fit, and with a good arch-support orthotic, I have absolutely no problems with them. My only complaint with the Bates oxfords is the price. When my local supplier didn't have the Bates oxfords in my size, I decided to try to purchase them from Amazon. These popped up as an alternate, and at half the price, I decided to try them. It was a wonderful decision. These shoes fit well and have worn well for the three months or so that I've been using them to date. They do NOT require an arch-support orthotic for me to wear them comfortably, which is a very big surprise. They have a very generous toe box, and my heel stays planted inside the shoes, unlike some of the Bates shoes that I've had over time. The aggressive lugs look great and have gotten more than a fair share of positive comments from people that I would have never expected ever looked at my shoes. My only complaints are that the laces tend to untie by themselves a bit more than other brands that I've worn, and that the soles squeak just a tiny bit on the cheap "school-safe" wax that my employer now uses - note that they squeak only a tiny little bit, and not as bad as other shoes that I've had or heard.
Love these shoes! I carry mail all day long and these shoes are holding up very well! I did switch out the insoles for better arch support. Make sure you break these shoes in before you start walking long distances and you're pretty much good to go! I will be buying these again and again. Rocky puts out a great shoe and they are made in America!
Husband says these are very comfortable for working at Post Office. Except not even a month of wearing them and the soles seem to be separating (pictures attached)
These are the best duty shoes that I have ever worn. Boots are another story but these are great for shoes. I work 12's in a hospital and don't have to chase criminals through the streets so I don't need boots, just comfortable shoes. These are great. I would definitely recommend to others. Don't skimp on your feet or your mattress, your body will thank you later in the form of a healthy back, less fatigue and reduced soreness.
