Sandals were a bit shorter than expected but still a good size and taking my son’s daily summer beating. The lack of Velcro hopefully means these will last longer than the beloved Walmart Velcro sport sandals
I have purchased these exact sandals for my daughter for the past 5 years. They are durable, and very well made. They also offer an excellent arch support which my child needs. These shoes make it through 9 solid weeks of camp which includes hiking, tromping through the mud, getting wet, climbing and scaling over rough terrain and in 5 years I have never had them fall apart or break in any way. In fact, even after a hard summer I toss them in the washing machine and pass them along to another child once she outgrows them. I swear by these sandals so much, I actually bought a pair for myself and I find them extremely comfortable and they are my every day go-to. I highly recommend them. This is a great kids sandle. I bought a pair last summer for my son. They held up very well especially considering my son is hard on all his shoes. They still look really good. They are well built and stay securely on the foot. They have no Velcro to get destroyed by repeated use. The only negative is that they are hard to get on and off for young kids unassisted. My older son (age 5) does not struggle but my younger son (age 4) does struggle. Hoping he will he the hang of it soon and that the shoe itself will loose up somewhat as his pair is new. Even so it did not stop me from buying another pair.
My boys needed their new sandals as they always get a pair each year for the warmer months. These fit well. My son is a size 12 and they fit like a size 12, no extra room no little room. My second son wears a size 7 shoe where sometimes he has a bit of space, but in these sandals they fit just right, unless they grow rapidly in a couple of weeks, then we might have an issue. Otherwise easy, my 4 year old son can put these on very easy I showed him to pull the cord, pull the sandal apart, and then close it down to attached it to the shoe cord up front. He does well, does not need my help. My two yr old can put them on and tighten them but needs help with placing the snap piece on the cord. No problem there, they have been dressing themselves for a while now and are independent. I saw other people had issues with their children putting their own sandals on because it was not velcro, but I did not have an issue. Just depends on the kid.The material is lightweight, and soft, there are no marks or red spots on their feet after using them. They ride their bicycles, run outside, use in water at the lake, and no issues. The closed toe is a very important feature for me as I do not want their toes to get hurt as with other open toe sandals and flip flops, some of which they trip on easily and it is careless for children to use those outside. These keep the kids feet cleaner, free from hurt, and it is a good fit.
These shoes run small and short. I ordered a size 1 for my daughter who just turned 7yo. She wears a size 1 in every other pair of shoes we own, but these have a tapered toe box (definitely more pointy than Keen sandals). I would have to go up a full size to 2 to fit my 7yo, but since the toe box is narrow, I am simply returning and looking for another brand. Her toes were completely to the end of the shoe. They were somewhat of an effort to get on, but not too bad. I can see how a younger child would have trouble. The rainbow stitching is pretty. They tighten a little, but not much. It's not a bad shoe, but not a fit for my child.
I purchased these shoes for my 9 year-old son. He needed sandals, but does not like open toe ones. He really likes these shoes! They are like gym shoes/sandal. Because they protect his toes, he is able to wear them to school. He likes to play baseball and he loves to run. He can do both comfortably in these shoes. They are easily cleaned too! He got them all dusted up, playing baseball. I rinsed them off with the hose and left them outside to dry. They came clean, looked like brand new and dried in about 30 minutes! He also wears them when we go swimming in the lake. They protect his feet from rocks. They are very stylish too. He has gotten lots of compliments on them. People ask, "What kind of shoes are those? Where did you get them? They are cool!" The soles are made of rubber and have great traction. Great shoes for active kids!!!
These are the perfect summer shoe for my active 5-year-old. I am all for flip flops but kids have a tendency to scrape up their toes badly with open toed shoes. These are the perfect solution. They are still open enough to be breathable but the toes are protected. We opted to buy these online because the quality of the ones in the stores are pitiful. These shoes are amazing. The soles are very well built and meant for lots of wear and tear. The support around her foot is soft but sturdy. They can be tightened and loosened easily. We have run these things hard and they still look good.
