The shoe's upper is constructed from full grain leather combined with breathable mesh, ensuring your feet remain dry and ventilated throughout various activities. The bellows tongue prevents dirt and debris from entering the shoe, making it ideal for outdoor environments.
Safety is paramount in any work environment, and these shoes come equipped with a composite safety toe. It's lightweight yet sturdy enough to protect your toes from accidental drops, and it meets ASTM standards. I work at a big box home improvement store, earlier in the year a kitchen wall cabinet fell out of its box and on my foot while I was putting it on the shelf. Causing my toe nail to go black and eventually fall off. I got these to prevent that from happening again and they are wonderful. I thought I wouldn’t like them because of the weight but you get used to it very quickly.
Two months now of hard wear. I am an airline worker. These boots somehow still look brand new! They are warm and solid. The toe really does protect. They do fit a little big. Overall ,I am very happy!
I feel bad for giving it 3 stars because the shoe would have been great if it wasn’t for the narrow toe box. The removable insert looked like it’d give good support and I really wanted to keep them but the sides were pressing on my little toes and since it’s steel toe I didn’t think they would loosen up. I don’t necessarily have wide feet but I like my toes to have room. So I went back to Keens.
Although this is an excellent hiker......reinforced toe adds a lot of extra weight to shoe.
I love Merrel shoes!! I've been buying jist mostly Merrel's because they are so comfortable. This is my first steel toe's work shoes. I'm gonna gonna be on my feet all day walking and I needed something that'll protect my feet working in a big warehouse. As soon as I tried it on, I know right away that this awesome shoes will be great on my feet and they are so comfortable. I never ever return Merrel's shoes because they are true to their sizes.
Shoe is sturdily constructed and the interior is comfy, so it would probably be great for walking trails… just way too heavy for a not too strong 70 year old to use for daily walks
I like the shoes very, I plan to buy another pair when I need to
About a month and a half into wearing these, daily in construction zones- bending, jumping into trenches, in and out of dirt and mud and concrete and rocks- I still am in love. There was a slight break in period but it was not uncomfortable, just that the laces needed to stretch a bit. I can't tell I'm wearing safety toe at all, and the soles are slip proof and comfortable. They breathe well too and the arch support is well needed! Will absolutely order again in future when I need more.
