Detailed Review

The KEEN Utility Men's Vista Energy Low Height Sneakers stand out in the realm of industrial work footwear due to their blend of comfort, safety, and style. The incorporation of KEEN.ReGEN technology in the midsole proves to be a game-changer, offering unparalleled support during those demanding work shifts.

When it comes to safety features, the composite toe construction provides robust protection without the added weight of traditional steel, making these sneakers an excellent choice for those who need to maintain both safety and comfort. The non-mutilating uppers further enhance their usability by reducing the likelihood of marking surfaces in sensitive work environments.

Additionally, the oil- and slip-resistant outsoles ensure you can tackle a variety of workplace conditions without fear of slipping, adding to the overall reliability of the footwear.

While primarily suited for light-duty tasks such as maintenance or warehousing, those in heavier industries may find these sneakers lacking in some protective aspects. However, their versatility combined with stylish aesthetics means they can transition seamlessly from work to casual settings.

Lightweight with flexible sole and lots of cushion, these are the best work shoes I have ever owned.

I've routinely work in power plants and factories with steel toed boots for over 40 years, and these lightweight shoes have proven to be the most comfortable of all of the one's I've tried. A coworker recommended them to me, and he loves them. They feel like slightly elevated running shoes with front ends which are not overly bulbous. I climb on steel vessels and uneven surface almost daily now as a QC inspector, and the low ankle weight and grip of the soles install confidence, unlike the inflexible traditional leather boots which make climbing in such places an more risk from slips off toe holds and slides off angled surfaces. The flexible sole allows a more tactile feeling through the shoe for better balance. The weight of the protective toe is unnoticeable, especially compared to that of a steel toe. The sole is very well cushioned, and the arches in my flat feet do not ache after 12 hours on concrete as with traditional boots. They are comfortable enough to wear as everyday shoes away from work, something that can rarely be said for PPE normally used on the work site. My size is 11 wide, and I have flat feet, and these work for me.

Extreme comfort and functionality

I've needed safety/steel toe shoes for work for about a year and a half now and I've gone through 4 pairs. Initially I had the Skecher Canktons and they only lasted for about 4 months before the built in memory foam insole wore completely through on the ball of my foot, until then they were pretty comfortable for the price. Then I used the Caterpillar Brode steel toe, and that got me about 10 months or so, they're pretty comfortable like a heavy skate shoe, but they're basic and there's nothing great about them. After wearing those out the outside of my pinky toe joint started rubbing on the inside of the shoe, basically starting to give me a bunion. Because of this issue I bought the Reebok Sublites and used those for about two weeks before i realized they weren't going to work. Because my foot was already aggravated, the same problem persisted. I don't doubt that had I not had this problem they would have been much better. With all that being said, I was quite disappointed in the Reeboks. The pictures I've added are comparing the Reeboks to the Keens. The Reeboks are basically a basic reebok shoe you'd find at Shoe Carnival with an alloy toe. The worst thing about the shoes are the soles are awful. They're a hard plastic material with no give whatsoever, making walking on concrete just awful. For 100+ i was very surprised at the design. So after this, i forked out the money on Prime day and bought these for 75$ (somehow). I was instantly very impressed and I basically knew they would be great before ever wearing them to work. I did go up half a size and went with wide to ensure i didn't have any issues with the fit.I've now been wearing these to work for over 4 weeks. The most noticeable aspect about these shoes is comfort. These literally might be the most comfortable pair of shoes i own, including casual shoes. The Keen.regen cushioning thing that is advertised is very noticeable imo, and i didn't expect that. As i said, the Reebok soles are hard as a rock, the Keen soles give a shocking amount when you press them. It almost feels like the shoes propel you forward, then soften the impact each step while you walk. The construction of the shoe seems great as well, they're much more sturdy, while the Reeboks are lighter and are maybe more nimble to walk in. I don't review anything on Amazon which is why this is so long, but I wanted to write this review because i think there are alot of people that have similar problems with safety shoes and can't afford to fork out $100+ every 3 weeks for a new pair. I highly recommend these shoes, I'll be permanently buying Keens until/unless i have a negative experience, and i think these are well worth the 125$ retail price. Buy these if you want to avoid foot pain and don't want to waste money on multiple pairs of safety shoes.

Affordable & Comfortable

The composite toe provides reliable safety, while the comfort and durability are outstanding. I opted for different colors which lowered the price to $45. I went one half size up and they fit perfectly.

pretty good work shoes.

i've worn keen boots for years when working outside and loved them. recently switched over to a warehouse job where composite toes were required so i thought i'd give them a shot.after two months of wear they're holding up well. seem quality. pretty comfortable overall, but i changed out the insoles for powerstep pro for extra support. at the end of an 8 hour day my feet are sore, but i usually walk about 10-15 miles a shift on unforgiving concrete. i purchased the wide size and they definitely wide. no complaints about sizing or fit.would buy again.

Decent shoe, if your like the steel-toe feel.

I love Keen when it comes to hiking and walking/outdoors. I tried their shoe for my on-the-go work and although the shoe was mostly comfortable and supportive, I had two major issues that ultimately required I return them.1.) the front/toe area has a protective band much like steel-toe. Some people prefer them and I gave it a shot with reviews and recommendations from people. Unfortunately it just hit the wrong spots on my feet that after walking for a few hours it had become a very painful problem.2.) I would recommend getting inserts for them to make your standing/walking more comfortable. This is especially true if you intend to use them all day.I will say that other than those 2 personal issues, the shoe is fantastic. They are sturdy, have great tread, and are pretty stylish if that matters to some. I would recommend trying them, but expect a very firm area around the front of your foot.

Lightweight and super comfortable!

I’m an industrial Electromechanical technician and I walk 2 to 5 miles a night on concrete floors, steel grating, slick epoxy coated surfaces, wet locations you name it. I’m 6’2 275 I work hard I walk fast between service calls and 2 months in I am very pleased with these. I’ve have every brand of work boot/safety shoe and it’s hard to find the perfect balance between a comfortable lightweight durable work shoe that has a good safety rating and toe protection. I’ll be a customer for life!

Light and comfortable

I’ve always liked keens, so I thought I’d give these a shot. I like them. They are really light compared to my regular work boots. I’d say they are comfortable but could use some inserts. I do industrial electrical, so these are rated for that. Hopefully they last. I’m a few weeks in. Still looking new.
