Detailed Review

When evaluating the KEEN Utility Men's La Conner ESD at Work Shoe, several key factors come into play: comfort, safety, support, and durability. The comfort level of these shoes stands out significantly. The combination of a cushioned footbed and breathable mesh lining ensures that your feet stay cool and comfortable, even during extended periods of wear.

With safety being a priority for any work environment, the La Conner model excels. The lightweight alloy toe provides adequate protection without adding unnecessary weight. It's also noteworthy that this shoe meets the ASTM standards, offering peace of mind to wearers. Additionally, the slip-resistance feature is invaluable for those working in environments prone to spills or slick surfaces.

Support-wise, the TPU shank adds vital structure to the shoe, ensuring that you have the necessary midfoot support throughout the day. The ESD capabilities further enhance its suitability for environments where controlling static electricity is crucial.

Durability is another hallmark of the KEEN brand, and this model does not disappoint. The water-resistant leather withstands daily wear and tear while also protecting against moisture. sturdy, stylish, tough work shoe

I bought my first Keen shoe ~ a year and a half ago and I was hooked. They are very comfortable, durable and not overly bulky but yet tough. The first pair I got (for Christmas) the stitching started to come loose so I called customer service and explained that they were only a couple months old. He immediately sent me a new pair and an email with a pickup tag. He sent the replacement shoes even before I sent the old ones back. Now that is customer service!

Good work shoe

These shoes cost twice as much as other similar work shoes with puncture resistance and toe protection. Took a little over a week to break in because of the thick leather construction compared to thin suede of cheaper shoes. After just over a month I can say these are super comfortable and durable (mechanic/fabricator/welder). The tread is more of an outdoor variety but doesn't seem to lack traction on concrete floors. The tongue is only attached at the toe, not along laces so any water or coolant that splashes onto the top of the shoe goes right to the socks. Otherwise a good shoe that I expect to last at least twice as long as the cheaper shoes on amazon.

Some of the best I have worn over the last 20 years

The shoes feel good and fit as expected. Wearing them over a month now they are well made and look to last a long time. I would highly recommend changing the insoles. I bought a pair on here and it makes them much more comfortable than what comes with these. Keen seems to make a good shoe. In the south, these are cooler and better than most.

Size is way off

Haven't been able to wear them. I ordered a 10.5 wide, to long. Ordered a 10 wide, still to long. Should be getting a 9.5 wide today. Fingers crossed. I have been wearing Keens for ever, always been a 10.5 not sure what's going on.

A Great Balance

I work at a manufacturing company, and recently we started requiring safety-toe shoes in certain areas of the facility. Probably 90% of my time is spent in the office, so I wanted to find a daily-driver that struck a balance between keeping my toes safe, being comfortable, and looking good. These fit the bill great. They fit very well. They lace up tight but my toes are in no way cramped and critically, the fit on top of my feet, which in many boots/shoes get a lot of pressure due to my high arches, is superb. I have a couple pairs of Keen hiking boots, so I was pretty confident in how these would fit-- your mileage may vary. They were very stiff right out of the box but within a couple days that improved dramatically and I'm sure will continue to wear in.They are very stable under-foot, both in grip and sole-stiffness which I like. The sole feels much closer to what you'd expect from a construction boot vs. a shoe. The tradeoff is it's not going to feel like you're walking on clouds, but never at the end of the day have my feet been sore or fatigued. So I'll take that tradeoff in a heartbeat- confidence in where I'm planting my feet is #1.They're definitely a little heavier than they look, even for a safety shoe in my opinion, but I think that also ties back to the sole. Not really a deal-breaker either way though.

Garbage

Keen should stop making shoes, they are unsafe. The sole came off on both of them in less than 2 weeks. I didn’t put shoes in a lot of stress and they still came apart. Also the shoes don’t seem to have the correct curve because shoe was not tight it had more than enough room but toe box pressed on the side of my toe? Never had that happen with a shoe. Don’t buy keen work shoes.

sturdy real lace eyelets

these are one of the only Keen shoes I'd buy because many of the Keens don't have metal lace eyelets but have some type of fabric loops. They become frayed and rip but I'm hard on shoes
