I've been wearing these for at least 15 years. I never need a break in time. They are durable and so comfortable.
My daughter has osteoporosis and is prone to broken bones in her feet. She requires sturdy and supportive shoes, but also likes ones that look stylish. She was very happy with these.
I was shopping for this specific style of shoe, taking time to read and view from various vendors. I love these shoes! They are great with my jeans for outdoor work or anywhere you need a psuedo work boot or knocking about on the week end. I wear a size 8 medium width, they are a bit wide but if you wear thicker socks in the winter or use these as a work boot then these are fine. I found that the boot is well made, quality material with a well constructed thick sole. comfortable to wear.
My husband has had a pair of these for a few years. I've been in love with them from the age of 16. Now, at 31, I finally have a lifestyle that I could justify owning a pair myself. My only regret is not buying them sooner.I bought a women's size 8 1/2 because I read reviews that they stretch out and form to your foot. This is true. They also run a touch small. I often buy a size 9 in boots because I like wool socks. I didn't do that with these and I'm not sure if it would even have made a difference. The boots/shoes have molded nicely to my foot but the toe box is a bit narrow. My pinky toes get tender if I wear too thick of socks. All in all, I'd give these 5 stars if it weren't for the tiny sizing issue. I love them. I pretty much live in them and they aren't too rugged. I wear them shopping and hiking around.
The fit and comfort are always good, we have several pairs.
I didnt think they left enough room in the opening for a human foot to fit into and was furious. Am I the only woman with an arch at the top of her foot? How could a woman with this size shoe possibly have a start to her ankle skinny enough to get her foot into this shoe, let alone wear it without getting blistered by the opening of the shoe, which comes up higher up the top of foot that most shoes? However, the opening can be stretched with little effort and they were quite comfortable once i got my fat foot in there. I believe i will even be able to wear my heavy wool socks. so I’m looking forward to wearing these the first cool day I get. These are very nicely made shoe-boots and I recommend them, unless you have a condition requiring light-weight shoes. I have arthritis in feet and everywhere else, but I am able to wear heavy shoes, and the extra sole is a great shock absorber, but I know some people need a light weight shoe and these may not work for you.
Very pleased with my purchase nice looking, well made shoe and the size was just right (7M). Unfortunately, I purchased the shoe not realizing before I hit the buy button it wasn’t a steel toe shoe which is what I was looking for. But it’s OK because now I own a “like new” pair of shoes that I got for a GREAT price that actually looks good with a pair of jeans for everyday wear but since I purchased the shoe by mistake and was surprisingly pleased (lol) I just ordered the same brand in the steel toe boot. Fingers crossed I’m hoping I’m just as satisfied with that purchase.
I ordered my normal size -- 7 medium -- but the fit was so far out of whack that I had to return the shoes. The opening was unusually small, but once I managed to force my feet inside, the shoe was WAY too large, with a good inch from the top of my foot to the shoe and a half inch on either side. The shoe felt well-made and sturdy, but the sizing is really far off. I might have returned it and ordered a size smaller but feared I'd never get my foot inside to see if it otherwise fit. This just seems to be an unfortunate design flaw. I should have heeded the other reviews that mentioned this issue.
