These are well-constructed, leather-soled dress shoes that look great. They aren't disposable shoes like everything else that sells near this price. They do require a slight break-in, so don't be surprised when they're rather stiff straight out of the box. They will soften up a lot over several times wearing them. If you enjoy *real* shoes you will want to give these a try.
You rarely find shoes as high quality as these any more. Leave it to Florsheim to continue crafting premium quality shoes. Received these in Black, Size 12 and thankfully very comfortable. Usually wear size 12 to 12 1/2. Wore all day for our son’s wedding day and had no issues. Like them so much, considering another, maybe in Burgundy. Good looking shoes, outstanding quality & comfort; worth the cost.
This is a real hand made leather shoe from Vietnam. The outer is leather. The sole is leather with the heel hammered on. These have all the earmarks of a hand made shoe. Most shoes are made of plastic like leather of such cheap quality leather they disintegrate quickly. To have stitched leather soles is unheard of in this price range. I fully expect these to wear for years and way down the road have them repaired by a shoe maker shop. Shoe makers don't repair plastic shoes. A note on fashion. I know the current trend is to wear sneakers or combo sneaker shoes with a dress shoe type top but it's just not a classy look. I know it's the fashion flavor of the month now but if you want to stand out in sea of followers stay with the classic styled method of dressing that stands the test of fashion trends. Wear real stunning well build shoes like this with a suit or sports jacket. Take my word. You will stand out as classically well dressed man. A note on size they fit very slightly large. I'm keeping them knowing the sole has to break in and with leather that will happen quickly.
Growing up in Chicago we always associated Florsheim with quality. Nothing has changed. Shoes are tough. They need a little breaking in. But once they are…boom.
Solid shoe but very very heavy.
