Dunham shoes are great shoes. True to size, feel great, light weight and very comfortable from the start. No awkward break in period.
I have not worn these shoes for a full day, but they are New Balance at heart. I don't wear a lot of dressy shoes. I have a pair of Nunn Bush that have lasted me 10 years, and they were uncomfortable. I bought his pair, since I am a big fan of New Balance shoes, and these did not dissapoint. I got the same size as my regular New Balance 608s, and they fit terrific. They will need just the minimum amount of breaking in. I will get this Dunham Douglas Oxford from now on, I believe.
I purchased the Dunham Douglas Oxford looking for a comfortable work shoe which would not exacerbate my plantar faciitis. Overall I have found the shoes to be superior in comfort and support to the Clarks Unstructured shoes I’ve been wearing over the past few years. The shoes are uncommonly light and the soles feel nice and springy. She 4E shoes fit my wide flat feet well and seem to provide good support. The sole does feel like there are slightly raised areas under the heel and ball of the foot. I assume these are the nylon stability shank described in the literature. I find it more noticeable when sitting than when walking, and has not been any problem thus far.I would say that the primary downside of these shoes is that after only a few days the leather uppers on the shoes have been creasing and wearing much more quickly than previous pairs of shoes I’ve owned. Naturally the lightness of the shoe will come with a decrease thickness of leather and possibly a decrease in durability. I plan to wear the shoes for the next few months and update this review on wear and tear of this model.6 Month Update:After 6 months of wearing these shoes I will say that I am quite satisfied with their wear and performance.I wear these shoes almost exclusively indoors and generally only walk on carpet or tile with a rare trip out on the concrete. The soles have become slightly less "cushiony" however they are still, comfortable. The tread on the bottom of the shoes has worn away significantly on ball and heel of foot, this would probably be exacerbated if I wore them outside more often.The uppers remain in good condition creasing in the leather is evident, however they still hold up well and show no signs of significantly deteriorating.Overall, I would recommend these shoes for indoor use, however I still have my doubts that that they would hold up as well with more outdoor walking and exposure to rain/winter conditions.
So I have flippers for feet. I mean full on doesn't need swim fins to scuba dive kind of feet.It's so difficult to find shoes dress shoes that look good, do not cause pain, and were not overly priced. Honestly I wish they had offered a 5E because that would be more appropriate for my feet. I knew ordering these that they were not as wide as I need, but needed the shoes anyway.The leather was soft enough it gave to the width of my foot and didn't cause pain which is saying a LOT because typically shoes = pain for me. I was able to wear them for more then 12 hours and not have blisters!
Needed extra wide shoes and a pair that can provide comfort for a very high in-step. Tried on a pair at a local retailer and was a perfect fit. It was there last pair. Found it on Amazon in the color and size needed.
Love these shoes. They are comfortable, look great and are durable. And the fact that they are waterproof is a bonus.
My son loves these shoes, comfortable right out of the box. He wore them for 8 hours the first day and had no complaints. He has a very wide (4E) width and he said they were perfect.
Very light-weight shoe. I ordered a 4E and it fit okay, but a little snug. I will need to break them in.Overall, the shoe feels good and I think they will work out.
