Detailed Review

The Dr. Scholl's Shoes Men's Harrington Work Shoe stands out in terms of its commitment to comfort. The insole technology, featuring molded memory foam, cradles your feet, ensuring that you can get through the day without discomfort. This is especially beneficial for those who spend long hours standing or walking.

Additionally, these shoes are equipped with a Lock Step Outsole™ which is not only slip-resistant but also oil-resistant, meeting rigorous SATRA TM63 and TM144 standards. This makes them a safe choice for various workplace environments where spills or slick surfaces are common.

The stylish oxford design allows you to transition seamlessly from work to casual outings, providing versatility that is often sought after in professional attire.

However, it’s worth noting that some users have reported that the sizing might feel a bit larger than expected, so trying them on before purchase is advisable. About as comfortable as work shoes can be and hold up well in adverse conditions

My husband works very long shifts and is required to stand on his feet the entire time on concrete floors. He developed turf toe which is very painful. It was probably due to wearing a tennis shoe style work shoe with too much give in the toe plate. He was off work recovering and when ready to return to work we hunted to find the most comfortable work shoes out there given his needs. We made many trips to various shoe stores and he tried on just about every style and brand available before settling on these. They have a very comfortable gel sole built in. That is difficult to find in a shoe that is skid proof and oil resistant. He needed something that wouldn't allow his big toe too much flex while still giving him as much cushion as possible for the rest of his foot. These fit the bill. After purchasing these shoes at a local store we came home and found them on Amazon.com for $10 less. We ordered them and returned the others. We weren't sure how well they would hold up. They've done surprisingly well. He has been wearing them for six months. He said that one area of stitching gave way from the sole so he glued it (months ago) and hasn't had any additional problems. That could have been a defect. He works in an area where the floor is covered in oil. It typically eats the soles of the shoes away within two to three months. These have held up very well even with him working seven days a week.If you are looking for a fairly stiff shoe that provides gel sole relief and a no skid bottom I highly recommend you giving these a try. Please note that they run a bit large. Although he typically wears a 10.5 standard width shoe my hubby had to purchase these in a size 10. You might want to order your regular size and a half size down to compare.

A work staple for my husband

These are my husband's preferred shoes to wear at work. He does add additional arch support. They are a good value, and help my husband's back and knee pain.

A good, comfortable work shoe with many fine points.

After five days of constant wear, the shoe is extremely comfortable with practically no break in period needed. The pebbled leather allows much less stiffness in forming the shoe to your stride. The fit is spot on, and very roomy. I first wore a thinner than normal sock to get a better feel of pressure and pinch points. There are none so far - a nice surprise. There is plenty of room for my normal, padded work sock. The under sole is a cushion of shock absorbent material, and the sole seems to be a tough and scuff resistant material seen in many work shoes. The tread is not particularly deep, so how the sole wears will be critical to the life of the shoes, and the weather conditions you can use them in. The foot bed inside the shoe is nicely padded, but there's not a full-length gel insole, only a small heel cup of gel, but this adds to the comfort and spring of the shoe. I'll know in a month if I really miss my usual full-length work insole from the good doctor. A minor but constant criticism with these and many work shoes are the sub-standard laces provided. We deserve a better lace, manufacturers! These may last four months. I'll update the review later in the year. In short - a very good and comfortable work shoe with many fine points. Highly recommended to try.

Absolutely the worst laces i've ever had on a shoe

Absolutely the worst laces i've ever had on a shoe. They started fraying within two weeks, and now the outside layer has completely separated from the inside. The shoe itself is great, comfortable and fit as expected. The way they come laced allows the laces to really tighten, but it causes friction apparently that they can't handle. By the time i re-laced them, the damage was already done, and now they are falling apart. You might as well figure in the cost of replacement laces in with the shoe. If it weren't for the laces, i would have given the shoe a 4-5 rating.Update 9/20: From the recent reviews, they must be having some serious quality control issues. My shoes have been holding up well. I wear them 5 days a week and its been about 4 months now. Very comfortable shoes, and once i replaced the laces, trouble free. I wanted some ankle high boots in this same style and checked to see if Dr. Scholl's made some since i liked these so much. I think i've put polish on them once the whole time. The leather and it's color hold up well. Bumping up one star to 4

THIS IS NOT THE BOOT IT USED TO BE!!!

I loved my old Dr. Scholl's Harrington boot. My first pair lasted me 3 years, second pair 2 years. They were a good looking boot, and incredibly comfortable for 12+ hr workdays spent on foot. The original Harrington was manufactured in China, but Dr. Scholl's seems to be looking for any way to cut corners and make a few extra bucks, and the new version of the Harrington is proof of that.Without updating the name, model number, or marketing, Dr. Scholl's has moved manufacturing of this boot from China to Vietnam and made subtle changes to the product while hiding the changes from the consumer. The shade of brown is brighter and redder, trying to overdo that 'professional' look. I chose the original Harrington because of it's darker shades, more subtle curves, and less aggressive business look. The original shoe was comfortable, and the new shoe seems to share the same insole and interior construction. The sole of the shoe is completely different. The new sole has deep micro grooves which will rapidly wear out. The toe area has no traction at all. As somebody who works in raftors, climbs ladders, crawls in crawl spaces, then returns to a desk in a professional environment, this new sole is not cut out for my workday. This new model may be just fine, but based on others reviews of the Vietnamese model, it seems the new boot does not last.I've returning these boots with a 1-star rating based entirely on the fact that the manufacturer changed their product without updating the product name or informing the customer that the shoe has changed. Shame on you, Dr. Scholl's.
