I hate heavy shoes and these are lightweight dress shoes that are comfy for my sons to wear to their band concert. I was worried about what other reviews said about the soles being made of foam, but I think it’s what makes the shoe comfortable. I thought the upper was of quality material and should last a good number of dress up events. Order your kid’s regular shoe size. They are true to size. It’s a pretty dress shoe at a bargain price. These shoes were great for the price, they served the purpose I needed them for. Yes, they are cheap, but I knew that going in. I don’t think they would last through a lot of rough wear (which is the only kind of wear 10 yr old boys are capable of) but they lasted perfectly fine through a wedding. Would probably make it through another event or two before they’d be too scratched up. Again, I expected this. Happy with my purchase

The shoes are fine and will serve their purpose (band concert), but they're definitely not everyday shoes (for example, wearing them with a school uniform). The sole is foam, not rubber. The material feels thin and almost cardboard-ish. My son is a size 6/6.5 and the 6 fit fine. He'll only be using these for his band concerts, so we'll keep them.
