This is a very nice show for daily business wear, when you don't feel like a cap toe Oxford. It felt good from the get-go, except for a slight stiffness at the ankle which improved after two or three wearings. These shoes leave my feet feeling comfortable after eight hours of wear. All in all, I'm very satisfied.
This is my second pair and I love everything about these shoes. Comfortable for the days you're in the for several hours. They're solidly constructed and can dress up or down with ease.
I have a number of pairs of the Lenox Hill line in different configurations. This review is for the split toe in British tan. I also have this shoe in black split toe, cap toe British tan and wingtip in brown. Like the others in this line the shoe is a bit roomy for its size in a comfortable manner that allows me to wear soft, non binding Frye boots company socks with them. The interior of the shoe has an orange rimmed “cookie” like you would find in a quality athletic shoe. This positions the heel well and gives a nice arch support that isn’t too apparent to be uncomfortable. The shoe is very attractive, the leather is dyed nicely and the craftsmanship is good. The sole is synthetic but appears to be welted or sewn on. The shoe needs little breaking in and you will be so comfortable that you won’t remember that the shoes you are wearing are brand new. For the price this is a great quality shoe. You will likely receive compliments when wearing the Lenox Hill split toe.
8 month Update:I mentioned that I bought up a half size. I'm still happy with that decision. These shoes did take a while to totally break in, particularly near where one's toes flex, but now I am very happy with them. The leather finish keeps nicely, including the sides of the rubber soles.Original Review:I purchased these in black, size 10M. They replace an old pair of Bostonians, also with an all rubber sole but of lower quality. I also purchased CH Carter Grand Split Oxford (leather sole) to compare. Both CH shoes are very nice. The Lennox Hill has a longer, pointer toe and the leather has more of a satin finish compared to the Carter Grand Split, which has a high gloss finish and perhaps superior leather quailty. I kind of liked the shape of Grand Carter better, but the satin finish ultimately won out and I chose to keep the Lennox Hill.I have worn them several times now. No squeaking on smooth floors (wet or dry). No bloody ankles or emergency room trips as some reviews might have you think. They do require some break-in but they are not causing me discomfort during this period. A given shoe design will not fit everyone. Don't keep shoes that don't feel somewhat comfortable to begin.I normally wear a 9.5 but went up a half size because of another CH pair I purchased last year and found to be slightly small. I would say they run a half size small. The width is just right for me.I also like the rubber sole, mated to leather or similar look material to provide a traditional look fro the side. I find rubber more forgiving and the toe tip lasts much longer, a place I normally wear out quickly with a leather sole. I'm happy with my purchase and Cole Hahn has become a go-to shoe for me.
These are very comfy and stylish!
It's a Derby. But it's beautifully made, elegant and comfortable. The laces hold well, unlike many other dress shoes.
They are a little tight but they look very nice and match with alot of the cloths I have.
