My son is a laborer and absolutely loves these boots these are his go to boots he says they are the most comfortable boots
Chippewa boots beat Timberlands in every way!! I will never go back!
UPDATE: 1/28/12It's been over two years and have been wearing this same pair 5-7 days a week, 9-12 hours a day. I think it's broken in now but not broke ;) Still holding up great, it still has its shape, have gone through 3 pairs of laces and the soles have only worn down 40%. Every few weeks I give it a good scrubbing, air dry and spray with water proofing. It's gone though grease, oil, mud, concrete, some chemicals, poo, gravel, sand...and it still holds up! Very Happy with this pair! ********************-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Being in the military I know the importance of having great fitting footwear. There are military boots I'v worn for years that I'll never replace but unfortunately getting back into the civilian workforce there are some criterias my boots needs to have to work safely in an environmental industrial field. One is steeltoes. I have tried numerous types that I won't name (still good boots but not for me) and usually the problem is the fitment and the steeltoe itself. All I can say is that this pair of boots fits like a glove. Usually with steeltoes the problem I have is either the toes r too tight or too wide and the steel itself digs into the top of my feet. These doesn't. I barely feel the steeltoe. The inside is nicely cushioned and hugs your feet nicely. The soles have great traction. Walking through wet floors, mud, dirt, etc. is cake. It also has good ankle support. Nice and firm.Only thing I can think of that is somewhat of a downer is that these boots are a bit heavy. That's not a big problem, though, coz after a day or two you'll be used to the weight. This is my first pair of Chippewa boots and so far since I've had it for over a month it has been good. I sometimes just wear it when going out not just for work(with a good cleaning of course). All in all, its a great pair. I will be buying again when the time comes!!
the boots are awesome,,only thing is I buy boots same size 10- medum wide and I can wear thick insulated socks. with this boot I cannot ..I have to use regular socks and they fit good ,,if I knew I would have went a 10 1/2 so I could use thicker socks ..but the quality is superb .
For the past few yrs I've had the Chippewa 55069 insulated steel boots. Which are to hot for the summer time usage. So when I found these uninsulated boots. I had to order them. I tied them on & they feel really comfortable. I only walked a few steps, but feel they will break in easily. It says they aren't waterproof , in from the factory, which kinda stinks. But will be waterproofing them over the weekend. Being I work out in all weather.
These are great looking boots that seem to be high quality . I had to return only because the steel toe was a bit tight . I may reorder in wider
I bought these boots for over $200 for my grandson. It was a birthday gift. He has worn Chippewa boots for years. The quality of this boot was very disappointing. He wore them to work and in less than a week one of the boots leather broke down and the sole did also. Very disappointed.
Good price, decent boot. I like the eyelet construction, using washers on the interior side. They are fairly light compared to some of my other boots, and there's really nothing overtly wrong with them. But the sole feels like it's going wear down pretty quickly (which does however make them a little more shock absorbent I think) and the shank/midsole portion of the boot is a little weak. I wouldn't want to be on a round-rung ladder for too many hours with these. The fit is right on size, and there was really no break in discomfort. Of course they felt better after a few dozen days of wearing them, that's how leather boots work, but they weren't bad straight out of the box.Hooray for oblique toe though! I wish more manufacturers would make them this shape.
