My first pair of real work boots I've bought for my job. They fit real good and the front has ample space for my toes. My feet don't feel fatigue at all after they're worn in and they ware in after about a week or 2 of use. I've worn them in 11°f weather with blistering winds on metal and they keep the cold out pretty well but after standing still for awhile no shoe can keep the cold out. The only problem I had with them is the outer sole shaved down after about a year on concrete and gripped pads and after that they don't grip well on wet metal surfaces. Furthermore I'd like to point out that even when the soles are brand new they slip easy on ice so beware. Other than that these are excellent shoes. I like the composite toe because it won't go off in metal detectors and saves your feet. They have saved my feet countless times from being crushed, broken and even impaled one time. I haven't owned many pairs of boots but I can say these are one of my favorites so far. Also my feet never got wet after being rained on all night
This is my 4th pair of Carhartt boots with years of use with every pair. But come on Carhartt $180 boots and .05 cent lases.
Most comfortable boot I've found, they are waterproof but they don't like complete saturation. The pair I'm replacing are the brown ones, left foot toe protector moved and rubbed my foot to death. Light rain,snow ok. 3inch puddle for an hour no Bueno, ruined em.
My boyfriend is a welder so he’s on his feet all day and says these boots are the most comfortable he’s ever owned. Definitely worth the money.
Yes! They will hold up! Especially the soles. Ours have lasted almost 2 years so far & though they are finally looking warn out they are still comfortable. I getting new ones (in black this time) because hard work deserves a new pair of shoes at least every 2 years! I want some that look good on the outside still. Didn't need insoles with these either! Great boots. (The heel is finally separating & some seams splitting) I'll attach a pic later
Have owned a couple boot brands in my life time so far these are my favorite. They feel confortable and feel pretty light.
At first I loved these boots. They took a a day or two to break in and they were perfect. I wear them 40 hours a week just like I have with all of my previous boots. Unfortunately these have started to fail at one of the most critical points. The top speed hook, which is where the laces impart most of their stress when tying, is tearing away from the collar. Looks like the leather that attaches to the collar was cut short on the inside. There is the same defect on the left side of both boots so who knows how many more passed through quality control. I've had these boot 3 weeks. My last three pairs (which we're branded by a large yellow heavy equipment manufacturer), cost half as much and lasted two years. I wear a Carhartt coveralls, winter jacket, socks, shorts, etc. Because I trust them to make quality products.Update:Under the assumption that the previously mentioned defect was simply a quality control problem, I returned the boots and ordered another pair. The second pair lasted about 9 months before the leather started cracking and falling apart. To be fair, I'm a carpenter and I wear them 40 hours a week constantly up and down ladders, crouching down, standing up, etc. I'm very hard on my footwear. So if you're less active they're probably fine. But for the money there's better stuff out there.
