I ordered these after returning a different pair made of "PU Leather". PU is correct. They smelled like a petro-chemical accident.However, the Brentano's are indeed actually all leather and a very distinctly handsome shoe. The smell like an all leather shoe.They were a bit more roomy than I expected but leaving-in the insole and adding my orthotic inserts fixed that issue.Not being used to wearing leather sole shoes, I found them very slippery and had to force myself to concentrate on the slightest incline/decline around our church.Having said that; these spectators are EXACTLY what I wanted. My wife and I love them and I've received many positive comments.Great shoes!
I really like these shoes. They are beautiful examples of 1930s style two tone spectator shoes. Other companies sell similar looking items, but most of them were made of synthetic PU, and only one other company had shoes with this two tone look in the wide size I need. The real leather smell of these shoes is there from the minute you open the box. They're exactly what I wanted style wise and fit very comfortably. They seem to be well made, though I'll have to reserve full judgment on that until I've had them a while longer. Anyway, these made it possible for me to get the type of shoes I wanted without have to spring for the triple or quadruple cost of custom made shoes. I'm toying with getting another pair to have for when these do wear out. These shoes are great, whether you want to go full out vintage/retro style or just add a touch of it to your look.
I really liked the shoes, they were too large so I have sent them back and am awaiting for the smaller size to be shipped out to me.

First pair (11.5W) were just too tight. I communicated with the seller who suggested going up a half size. The return was easy. The new shoes look and fit great!
