What a shame these shoes did not work out and that I had to return them. There's a raised edge on the back inside vertical surface that gave me serious heel blisters on both feet. I can feel the edge with my hand that's causing the problem. It is not present in a pair of black Bates that I previously purchased, and had hoped to have as good a fit and durability from this latest time. The vendor, Elite, was wonderful about trying to make good, but ultimately asked that I return for a refund.
Regardless of how long you wear these, they will alwayd fall apart the same way. Your soles will disintegrate with no warning at exactly the worst time. They may last 10 years or 10 days, but rest assured you will get the Bates Blowout.
