So far the tread is very durable and slip resistant. I have been sick of burning through soles on my other safety toe shoes. I'm about 4 months in on them and expect to get to a year no problem. Wore out my Keens in about 6 months by comparison. Will probably get the boot version for my next update. Break in time was longer than normal but seems to be translating to better life overall. Airport precheck is no problem. They are more boot than oxford in looks but doesn't stop me from wearing them with khakis to meetings.
