These are simple good quality boots. LIke there's nothing fancy to them. No big fat insole or extra funny bells and whistles. They just made a boot that fits a foot. I'm 44 with flat fairly narrow feet and I'm 5'10 230pounds. These boots are well designed for construction for a few reasons. The soles have reasonable traction but they don't grip so much that your foot becomes an immovable object with each step. That takes away a lot of stress on your joints. Wet concrete didn't stick to mine the first day. After a week I put some oil on them. If I have to stand all day and work I can tell these don't have big insoles but I'm planning on trying some however these feel like healthy. I had a pair of doc martins with mad padding and insole that the rest of the boot was so ill fitting they were torture. I had some rebok that were great padded and braced but my knees hurt. These boots feel good and I'll probably keep buying these boots as long as I'm in this line of work. I've had these a couple of weeks now and they appear as though they'll probably last a good while. I work with wet concrete on a jobsite that is all rock powder sand and these boots are good to clean. The soles don't track sand in the house like every other boot I've worn. I tell you what, if I ever find a better boot I'll buy it. So far these are the best for this work. When I was a driller, and younger with stronger legs I had some Redwing Lumberjack boots. Heavy, but excellent boots for that job. These are the right boots for my current job.
I've been using these boots for a couple of months now at work and am very pleased with how they are doing for me. Ariat boots have always impressed me as providing quite a bang for the buck and these boots don't disappoint. I do find the soles and side walls of these boots to be a bit more rigid than my square-toe ariats, but I'm also not walking all shift long, so that doesn't bother me. I wish they were a bit wider, but I have an extra-wide foot and they are still pretty comfortable and I am in them 10 hours a day, often 7 days a week.
Bought for my son and he loves them. They are his daily work boots and he says they are very comfortable. They look nice too.
As an Engineer doing field work, I require a good pair of steel toe boots for walking on rough terrain, as well office work. Something good looking, but also something to be proud of to wear to work. This Ariat Groundbreaker is no exception. These boots definitely have the looks, quality leather, and stitching even your grandpa would be jealous of. The colorways and combinations offered are very eccentric and beautiful. You cannot beat a brand like Ariat for some of the best looking work boots ever. So I decided to give them a shot, after all I've heard the hoop and holler about such a brand for years. Will I say the boots are all and worth they're worth? Sure, for the price range you cannot complain. Especially for a slip on steel toe work boot. Would I recommend these to every single person on the market looking for a steel toe work boot? No. They're very easy to slip on, and fit very snug, and true to size. However, they lack in a lot of other departments. Arch support is terribly tremendous, and the insole tagged "All Day Cushioning" is surely a lie. Not only is the arch support terrible, if you suffered from plantar fasciitis in the past, consider these boots a red flag and stay clear cut away from them. Personally to make these boots fit my needs, I had to swap insoles to Dr. Scholl's and migrate over to steel toe boot socks specifically to make them even remotely comfortable.I've broken in several pairs of steel toes, and these took at least 3 months of 9+ hour days to give me even some results I was looking forward to. They seem very durable, and with cleaning can last more than your average run of the mill work boots. However, I will say I miss my lace up Wolverine steel toes that were the most comfortable things in the world to walk in. These Ariats feel very rough at the beginning, become more gentle and easy, but still have a grittiness to them. The toe box really surprised me though, its just right and arguable the best toe box I've ever experienced in a work boot. All around quality, but not as comfortable as many will claim. (They must be used to their feet in agonizing pain for 12 hours straight and enjoy it) You must fit it to your own needs.
3rd pair of these boots. Won’t wear any others . Run a little small. I normally wear size 11 gym shoes and wear these in a 9 1/2 or 10
they arrived today, when I got home from work I tried them on and I was just absolutely amazed when they went on my feet. I've never experienced anything like it there's absolutely no place inside of the boot for your foot to move around or rub in any way. I walk 10 to 15 miles minimum per day for my job and after going a cheaper route trying to save some money my feet paid the price! These are clearly extremely high quality from the moment you touch them even before you open the box you can see that it's a good product. The color is awesome the soles are really heavy duty and way better than others that I've seen. They don't feel too heavy or light they're just right. I've never spent this much money on a pair of shoes before but I'm sure glad I did and I guarantee these things will pay for themselves many times over. I highly recommend them and have found my new favorite.
These were a little different in style than we normally get with Ariats but these ended up being one of hubs favorites. We got these through Warehouse Deals and they were perfect for our needs. Hubs wears a 12EE and the sizing is always spot on. The boots last forever and we often will buy Ariat inserts after a year to give the boot a refresher. Overall ... for us, there was no complaints or regrets.
