I will never have a better-quality pair of shoes than these. They're made of top-grain leather and the depth of the surface is - you're looking into the leather, not at it. The leather is thick, so whatever creases develop, they won't be harsh like the creases on the palm of your hand, and it contains a lot of natural oil so the little scuffs you put into it will rub out, especially if you treat it with saddle soap. I gave them a good brushing right out of the box and the colour got deeper & richer right in front of me as if the very molecules of the leather stood up & said, "Howdy! What's goin' on?"I like apron-toe shoes, though some people might think these in particular look kind of orthopedic. They sort of do, and yet they ooze class. None of the proportions are exaggerated, especially at the toe where some others, notably the Europeans, just go a little too far. They're like classic American penny loafers except that they're lace-ups.Important to note that these are made with a Goodyear welt so that someday in the far future when the outsoles have worn down enough, the shoes can be sent back to the factory and totally refurbished at a reasonable cost. In other words they can be made to last forever. You do not get Goodyear-welted shoes in anywhere near the $150 range. I have some Cole-Haans around that price that I really like, but sadly, when they're done they're done. You might find a cobbler willing to grind off the rest of the rubber and glue on new outsoles, but if he guarantees them to last, it'll be because you have an unusually innocent face.Absolutely gorgeous shoes, alive like a beautifully-finished piece of wood, no buyer's remorse here.
Look good, great for your arches and comfortable. I have few of them in the pass for everyday wearing.
Seemed like it was a return merchandise that was shipped to me. I returned it.
Excellent
Pros: High Quality. The leather is soft to the touch and has no chemical smell as many imported shoes do.Very comfortable and supporting insole. Do not need to add another insole as have to do with lesser quality shoe.Made in the USA!Some may believe that the shoe is too "heavy" but it actually provides more support and helps ease back strain after a long day.Cons: not cheap but if you are looking for a sharp, well made every day dress shoe it is well worth it. Great!
