It is amazing owning a pair of American made, leather shoes. I have them in 10 D and they fit perfectly for my normal size 10 feet (I have the Park Ave's also but wear a 9.5E).The cork foot bed makes the shoe the most comfortable I own. After 12 or so wears, they form and break in to your foot.Leather soles are holding up very good after 3 months of use. I walk 3 city block to and from work 5-6 days a week in Cleveland, OH.If you can find these shoes near $200 on sale, grab them. I recommend them.
Very uncomfortable shoes!
These shoes a very stiff and look forward to breaking them in. Hope it happens fast because my feet did hurt after wearing them twice. I've been wearing Rockports for a long time and enjoy the comfort of them but wanted a better quality shoe. But after all the aches and pains and stiffness I', starting to wonder why! I did notice that the inner sole seems to be of less quality then a pair I owned about 7 years ago. Maybe someone can enlighten me/us on any corners AE might have made to save a dime?
The 8 last is perfect with this design. It's more streamlined than some of the other AE split toes. It fits low across the top of the foot so there isn't a lot of excess leather to uncomfortably crease into the foot (like some 5 last cap toes...on me anyway). The dark brown can easily be dressed up or down. Great construction, and if you do ever have any issues, Allen Edmonds stands behind its products and is easy to deal with directly.
The best fitting shoe in my closet. I bought two more pairs. These will last many years like the older shoes that I own that can be resoled. These shoes cost far less in the long run. I can wear these 15 years or longer with 2 or 3 resolings and spend far less that those 'thrifty' people that buy the crap at the big name department stores.
I like allen Edmonds products in general. This one ran a bit smaller than some of their other shoes. I had to wear it for an hour with 3 pair of socks to help stretch it. Once I did that and wore with 1 pair, it fit perfect. Normally would not do this with any shoes but the toe/top was a bit snug
Have owned countless pair of Allen Edmonds shoes and have been completely satisfied........except for this specific pair of shoes. Squeaky and no matter what remedy tried, does not abate. Highly disappointed. Wanted to return and was a few days past return window.
Great Craftsmanship and a great shoe. Just ordered a 3E and probably only needed an E. Having to send them back and wait is a pain but wasn't Allen Edmunds fault. Overall happy with the quality of shoe.
