Out of the three pairs of AEs i own (others are Park Aves and The City) these are my favorite by a pretty decent margin. I have the regular walnut color and they come with a nice look as the toe fades into a darker hue of brown (see Amazon's pic). I have maintained this look with different colored polishes and even experimented a bit. Oddly enough, I have found that using cordovan polish on the shoe with a fade into brown makes them look quite striking (see my pic). I've received several compliments.Also, mine are factory seconds and i have never experienced any qualiy issues despite that fact.
