The fit is good for my regular-width feet. Wide in the toe box so it doesn't feel cramped, but narrow enough at the heel that it doesn't slip or rub. Comfortable from the beginning, no blisters and no break-in period needed. This is my 2nd pair of this shoe; after a couple heavy-use years with the first pair they are finally starting to look worn so I thought it would be good to have a backup. :) Slip on is easier than lace up to get in and out when it's time to walk the dog. Waterproofness has so far stood the test of the soggy Pacific Northwest winters. Stable, grippy sole provides enough traction so that I can usually hold my ground and not get dragged when my dog sees a rabbit he wants to chase. Looks nice enough to wear out & about. For longer/rougher terrain hikes I prefer a lace up, higher top boot, but this shoe is comfortable enough to double as a hiker for shorter/flatter/urban hikes.
I love Keen's, there have been some of there shoes I didn't like ...but I do like the Kaci III. I have the non-winter with a buckle version which I love. This style is a bit higher up the top of my foot and makes slipping it on a bit more challenging, but it is not a problem. The "breakin" time was the equivalent of one trip out to grocery store and back and not they are all set for my foot. No hotspots or blisters.I love the traction. Another reviewer did not think they were helpful in preventing slipping... respectfully disagree. The sole reason wear Keen's is because I am afraid of falling. I love where it rains most of the time and I am a walking urbanite and need some tread to help keep my old bones upright. The Keen's I typically dislike are the waterproof ones... mainly because they are not leather and therefore are too rigid and hurt my feet. These are supposedly mildly waterproof but are leather and mold to your foot with wear.
Keen is an awesome brand, I have a black pair of these and a gray pair, both fit great and are very comfortable. I tried the rust color (more than once) and they were very tight and uncomfortable. Had to return
Not the most attractive shoe out there but their function can’t be beat. This is a very well made shoe made out of extremely durable material. Easily slipsOn with little effort and and gives my feet a broad solid base to help keep meBalanced and secure. I love them.😍 I highly recommend these shoes for everyday wearOr working outside, or any activity that makes you happy 😊Naanii
Pros: When I first slipped my foot into this shoe I heard myself sigh in comfort. Same with the other one. Arch in the right place, lots of toe space and beautifully made...good tread, beautiful leather, tightly stitched ... looked like they'd last a long time.Con: I began to walk around the carpeted bedroom and hardwood living room. and the previously delight in the roomy shoe gave way to it slipping off my feet with every step. I do not exchange shoes for smaller sizes as I find the length goes down and the arch winds up in the wrong place. So...they're going back. I am a Keen shoe wearer, bought the sandals this summer and just love them. I'm certain I will find another shoe they make I love, but this wasn't it. The stars reflect that I'm returning them for the above reason but that's purely my issue, if they fit you they're worth every penny and they'll probably be super comfy. They just felt like they were too wide and not secure/tight enuf for me.
My original order was messed up and Amazon sent me a random bra instead of my shoes. I initiated the return and they immediately shipped out my order for the Keen shoes. Now the shoes, I love them. Very comfortable the first day that I wore them. Today we had snow, and I had a ton of errands to run. I trudged through the slush/ snow and the soles were very grippy and completely stable the entire time. They are wide enough that I can wear my thick wool socks and still be very comfortable. When I first put them on, I thought they looked huge and clunky and now I love them. These will be my daily go-to shoes for everything from walking the dogs to working.
I should have paid heed to the other reviewers, but the price was too good to not give it a try. I'm sending these back. They're very difficult to slip into, the heel is very tight, but this shoe lacks arch support which is why I love Keen's and have 5 other pairs in assorted colors. I tried putting in my removable arch supports but it raised the heel too much and my foot kept slipping out in the back. Actually, when I first opened the box, the shoe reminded me of men's slippers, but I love the color. I'm now very hesitant to purchase another pair of Keens without trying them on first, so back to the shoe stores.
I'm on my third pair of ladies Keen low profile hiking boots. They fit well and hold up well. The first pair I bought were waterproof, I wore them to walk 500 miles of the Camino de Santiago in Spain and they never let me down. I decided to try a pair of their slip-on winter shoes and so far they're just great. I will note, however, that I changed the insole because I use orthotics due to problems with plantar fasciitis. That increased the cushioning under my arches a bit, which feels better to me than the insoles that came with the shoes. But with that change, I think they look great and I love not having to mess with shoelaces on the shoes I wear to work in the winter.
