All three pairs I ordered, two after receiving and trying the first pair, including the black as well as cordovan/brown have leather soles and are unlined. Fit is snug as is usual with a custom made shoe, 9.5 Wide is tight over the arch as needed for a loafer, shoe box just right for the toes and length of foot. Nicely made and finished very light shoe.
Finally I ordered a shoe size larger, different style, and both shoes fit very well.
Really impressed with the quality of the shoes. Reminds me of the Florshiem shoes that I used to buy 40-50 years ago.
Everything is perfect. But, it is small for me. So, I need you to replace the shoes by the number 7
DO NOT BUY THESE SHOES.After 2 months, the soles of these shoes are beginning to separate and fall off. TWO months.FLORSHEIM, your shoes are complete garbage.I would like my money back.
Due to pandemic, my father in law would be too susceptible to the virus. He is 83 years old, has only one leg, and has a lot of medical issues that for the most part keeps him confined to a wheelchair. Once in a while he will move around with help from either a walker or crutches. And the shoe he feels most comfortable is with a Florsheim shoe. He does wear sneakers, but he rather have these on when he "has' to go to the doctor. We were glad to find this shoe on Amazon and after two attempts, we found the right size. i am glad Amazon has a very easy exchange system. That was really smooth. But the shoe is great, comfortable and gives him stability when he has to walk on one leg. Thanks.
This review is for Florsheim Men's Berkley Penny Loafer,Black,12 E Sold by: Amazon.com Services, Inc. I delayed buying these a few months based on some of the reviews. You have to be wary of copies and knock offs of reliable products. I've been wearing a version of this shoe since about 1969. The pair i just received is consistence with all of the previous pairs I've bought. These have always been my primary shows -- not reserved for special occasions and I have walked more miles in these shoes than most people have walked miles. I have never (prematurely) worn a hole in the sole of any of them. I have never had the top stitching fail, although if rubbed against the desk or office chair a lot, I expect it would. These are not "normal shoes." They have a life of their own that they will share with you, for years, if you treat them right. When you get them, polish them with a good paste polish. But wear some other shoes when you go fishing. :)Revised 5-28-2019: After wearing these shoes for over 6 months they honestly look and feel better than when they were new. I can't believe some of the reviews. They must be working for a competitor of something. These are very good shoes. Florsheim is best IMO, which is why I have worn them for decades. Use Kiwi Parade Gloss Shoe Polish. This is an honest review. I didn't get paid for my opinion and it is beneath my dignity to accept any payment even if offered.
They look nice but are hard and uncomfortable
