Great boots. Waterproof, comfortable, perfect fit. Well constructed, solid footwear.
I love these boots. I had to order a half size larger as they ran a little small.
The Pros...This is my 4th pair of these Wolverine Wilderness Hiking Boots. They are my favorite for fit and traction. The strings are long enough that when I lace them up to the top hooks, I cross over and go back down a set of hooks (hooks will accomodate 2 layers) and tie a regular knot. The action of going down to the 2nd highest hooks keeps the knot from coming loose. The trick works for me anyway. Now the cons...The 1st pair I bought in a local shoe store lasted 5 snowbird winter seasons of very serious hiking on Arizona trails. 4-7 mi. a day very consistently. Pair 2 lasted 3 seasons, much less agressive hiking (getting older), and the buttons on the soles chipped and wore off very rapidly. Something changed in the sole material. I am just starting on pair 3 (the brown in the picture) and stocked up on my next pair (the green/yellow) on hand before the danger of being discontinued. Now I am experiencing a sizing issue. I consider my shoe size 8.5M, sometimes an 8M if sizes run big. 1st pair 8.5M was a little loose, but OK. 2nd and 3rd pair I ordered an 8M, right on. This last pair as just received from Amz, is an 8M, I tried on the left shoe, and my toes nearly touched the front. Please see the pics for what I am trying to explain for physical size differences. The brown laces is my existing boots, the yellow/black laces are the new, just received boots. Look closely at the tongue differences for other countries and US. It is really weird. The larger, current, color brown, good fitting, made in China, boot is 8M USA, 6 UK, 39 EUR. The smaller just received, shorter, too-snug, color green, made in Bangladesh, boot is 8M USA, 7 UK, 41 EUR. The smaller boot has larger UK and EUR sizes? Oh well, this is one for Sherlock.I am returning this for the larger 8.5M size (hopefully available and in stock, same $$). My hopes are that the Bangladesh version has more durable sole material. Won't know till I try.
I've had these boots before and would have recommend them with no problem, the last pair lasted me 2- 1/2 YEARS BUT the last three Pairs i ordered fell apart with in a few days. I FILLED A COMPLAINT WITH WOLVERAINE, MORE THAN I CAN REMENBER. I told them stop giving contracts to someone that does understand the American way of manufacturing. QUILITY!! But then i realized,! it was nobodies fault but WOLVERINE. SO NOW.! To make things worse the replacement pairs i was sent did not fit in an y way at all. I usually ware a size 11-m . I had to order three different sizes at three different times. i ended up getting a size 12 to fit half decent, but only to realize that at the toe area they were flattened down and were rubbing the top of my toes!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OK, WERE IN THE HELL ARE THIER QUALITY CONTROLL PEOPLE!!! ?? OH! THATS WRIGHT! HAD TI DOWN SIZE!!!!!! I GUEST YOU CAN SEE I AN PISSED!!! AND BUT REALY DISSAPOINTED!!!!!!!!!! K.R.
I didn't dislike a thing, I got a great price on a pair of great boots. I usually pick size 11 but Amazon said a pair of these boots would feet me better I was skeptical but they were right the boots fit great I'm sure I will get some years of wear out of them they are made so well. I'm very very happy with my purchase and Amazon service
Feels high quality and relatively light weight.
Very comfortable. BUT, within a few weeks, the sole on both shoes started to separate from the upper. Luckily, I had purchased a shoe glue for another older pair of shoes to repair. That glue seemed to fix the separation. I expected much better of Wolverine. I don't expect shoes/boots to last forever but that defect should not have happened (so soon).
I always have trouble finding a wide enough shoe. This Is the first shoe that I have purchase that was actually the right size as advertised. I hope I will be able to find in the futureto purchase from this Company again. Rick
