Detailed Review

The Wolverine Men's Cabor Waterproof 6-Inch Work Boot impresses from the moment you put them on. Designed with the worker in mind, these boots feature remarkable shock-absorbing compression pads that minimize impact, making those long days on your feet more manageable. The inclusion of moisture-managing mesh linings enhances breathability, which is crucial when you're working in various weather conditions.

On construction quality, the boot stands out due to its permanent direct attached outsole, ensuring longevity and resilience against wear and tear. This construction method helps avoid the common issues of soles coming apart over time, providing peace of mind for intensive use.

Comfort is key, and the removable EPX anti-fatigue footbed plays a significant role here. Whether you're climbing ladders or standing for prolonged periods, the cushioning offers impressive support. However, some users have noted that they can feel a bit stiff at first, suggesting a break-in period may be necessary.

Support is further enhanced by the nylon shank, which gives a good level of rigidity without sacrificing flexibility. This aspect comes in handy during various physical activities, particularly in rugged terrains where ankle support is paramount.

A notable downside could be the weight; these boots tend to be heavier compared to other work boots, which might not suit everyone. Additionally, ensure you choose the correct size, as discrepancies have been reported.

Really Like Wolverine

Bought a Falcon shoe and a Cabor boot. The Cabor boot is slimmer in the toe than the Falcon shoe design so naturally one of my feet with the Cabor pair fit fine and the other was a little tight in the toe width. But I wore them all day the first day to see what the "give" was in the leather and now both feel fine. The arch support is quite prominent and takes a little getting used to in terms of foot tilt but body adjustment occurred in a very short while. Laces up fairly quickly and the smooth toe and lower section with no overlaying seams down the sides makes for a longer lasting boot design, IMO. Previous Wolverine designs I have had have lost stitching in those very seams due to foot flexing and became relatively useless after a year and a half or so. Still, they were very comfortable so I stuck with the Brand. The Falcon shoe does have the semi oxford side seam so I will not be doing much in the way of hard work with them. Just like the way they look and feel for an everyday shoe.

Great boot

Best boots I’ve ever owned. I bought them back to back. Only issue I had was with kneeling down over time caused the composite toe to shred thru the leather and be exposed. Just a warning besides that couldn’t be more comfortable and durable.

Wolverine Men's Cabor Waterproof 6-Inch Work Boot, Dark Brown

Bought these to replace an old pair of Wolverine DuraShock style work boots I'd worn for 4 years, finally succumbing to oil erosion in the sole. The Cabor has a composite rather than true Steel toe, something of a "con" in principle, however it does result in a lower weight for the toe and I feel a more comfortably balanced front-back center of mass. I have yet to experience a catastrophic drop to test the comp toe's impact strength, but it feels very rigid and strong to the touch a.k.a. no obvious bending or flexibility. The upper material is a stiff and very solid-feeling leather with matte surface finish; this is not a "bright" leather nor will it accept a polishing but I think it makes for a great durable look. Additionally the dull sandy finish helps to hide damage and wear; small cuts and marks do not stand out against it. Around the cuff is a section of softer padded leather outer which (for the Dark Brown color variant) is darker, almost black, matching the bottom sole. The lacing hardware is all-metal and fully riveted on, something I have learned to look for as a mark of boot quality. It features 3 fixed and 3 open-hook lacing pairs for easy lacing and removal, which I much prefer to all-fixed lacings that require you to pull the laces at each crossing to tighten/loosen (and can be painful to remove on a hot day). My previous boots had the same configuration with plastic hardware; these appear to be much more durable, at least visually. The interior shaping of these boots is somewhat unusual; I find the toebox to be rather wide and tall compared to the fit elsewhere, likely an artifact of the large composite toepiece. After replacing the stock (and notably thin) insole liner with a much thicker off-the-shelf upgrade, the fit was noticeably improved. I'd recommend changing out the insole if you feel the same, as it drastically improved the comfort of this boot for me. Additionally, the waterproof and insulated lining makes for a relatively thick and tough tongue which I found to put some uncomfortable pressure on the top of my foot and front of my ankle; however, by loosening the laces slightly from my usual (a.k.a. "pull as hard as you can and tie") method, this was relieved. I fully expect the tongue and upper's stiffness to fade with more time and wear. The "EPX" sole is made of durable poly/rubber rather than a foam or composite, with very little flex (another predictor of durability). The sole pattern is relatively dense with about 1/8" depth of tread, fine for daily work use but not quite what I'd want for mud or snow. Indoors, on sidewalks, and the shop floor the grip is excellent, even when wet, and it does not tend to catch pebbles in the tread like many other boots I've had. I'm not crazy about the bright red and blue spot colors on the bottom, as they clash with the boot's otherwise muted color-scheme, but this is a pretty minor complaint...who looks at the bottoms of your boots, anyway?

Great work boot

I bought these for my son who works in construction - the ones that he wore out were discontinued (also a Wolverine boot) - these seemed like the closest thing to it. When he put them on he was a little worried about the comfort because it had the composite toe (so did the other one, but I guess they were so comfortable he didn't notice), and of course a bit stiff and taller (6" rather than 4" tall). He put in his insoles and decided to start breaking them in over the weekend - he had no issues at all, they broke in quickly and he has been working in them 5 days a week for several weeks now with no issues.

Poor quality...not like the originals we purchased from a store! Very disappointed in quality!

My husband had this exact boot we purchased from a store. They were a great work boot and lasted a long time. When it came for the time for him to get another pair he decided that he wanted to get the same boot. We saw they were available through Amazon, so we were pleased that we could purchase them through Amazon. He has now had this pair of boots less than a year. Three months ago the sole started to split from the shoe. He used the heavy duty glue to fix and that held on for a bit and they are splitting again. Truly, we are wondering if these boots sold through Amazon are seconds. VERY frustrating and we will not be ordering products like this through Amazon again. VERY POOR QUALITY! Boots like this should last much longer. Very disappointed!

Most comfortable work boots I've ever owned

Most comfortable work boots I've ever owned. It has a composite toe, and the leather tongue is great if you are a welder or use cutting equipment. This is my 2nd pair the last pair lasted me 2 years. Make sure you are getting the shoe model number W10314 if you need it for work, there is another boot that looks identical to this one that has a soft toe, but it has a different model number.

Bad Protective Heel

This boot has a very rigid heel protector underneath the lining. The issue I had was the edge of the heel protector rubbing the bottom of my ankles. The lining inside feels loose, and may be the problem. I didn’t notice anything the first 2 days, but by day 3 it became very painful. Would have been the perfect boot if not for the heel protector.

Fits my feet well, very comfortable

Great boots. Fit my feet well, and feet are not sore at the end of the day. One of the few boots that I find comfortable.
