When reviewing the Wolverine 6" I-90 Durashocks® Insulated Steel Toe WP Boot, one of the first aspects that stands out is its quality construction. The waterproof nubuck leather upper provides an appealing aesthetic while ensuring durability. You can easily see that this boot is built to withstand harsh conditions.
In terms of comfort, the 200-gram Thinsulate insulation does wonders in maintaining warmth during colder months, making them suitable for outdoor work or winter activities. Additionally, the energy-returning polyurethane outsole significantly reduces fatigue, allowing you to stay on your feet longer without discomfort.
The removable footbed is another highlight, enabling you to customize the cushioning according to your liking. However, some users may find that the boots require a break-in period before they become truly comfortable.
While the color options are somewhat limited, the performance of the boot compensates for this slight drawback. Overall, if you're in need of a reliable work boot that offers both safety and comfort, the Wolverine 6" I-90 Durashocks is undoubtedly a solid choice.

I had this identical pair of Wolverines 10 years ago. They were light, comfortable, warm in the winter and reasonably cool in the summer. So like any wise middle aged man, I spent 10 years after that buying, Red wing boots, Thorogood boots, Carolina boots, Georgia Boots and even Wolverine Hellcat boots just to be disappointed by them all. As soon as I slid these boots on, it brought me right back to ten years ago. They are incredible! I've never had another pair of boots that didn't require any break in period to be comfortable. They fit true to size and have a level of comfort that I couldn't get in a $250 dollar pair of Union, American made boots. That being said, these are Chinese made boots. I do not appreciate that fact, but when it comes to comfort, you just have to go with what works. I work in the maintenance department in a petroleum refinery and these boots get abused by asphalt, crude oil, heavy caustics and acids. The only thing that they do not hold up to is high heat. We have copper steam tracing laying all over the place at approximately 250 to 300 degrees and the soles melt almost instantly on it. They also are not water proof. I haven't had a chance to put mink oil on them, but I'm figuring that will help when I do. Most waterproof boots that I have had in the past didn't breath very well in the summertime, so I am ok with this aspect. So, if you can avoid standing on steam tracing and stay out of large bodies of standing water, you will love these boots for years to come!!!
the only boots for me. seriously.....the ONLY boots i have worn for years. when i find something that works, i stick with it. i've been wearing this model of boot for 15 years. i am extremely hard on footwear, and these boots stand up to the test. each year, i purchase 2 pair, and swap them daily to extend their life. fresh out of the box, they feel like walking on clouds. once broken in, they comfort and protect my feet like nothing else i've experienced. i know what you're thinking......if these boots are so great, why do you go through 2 pair each year? once again, i am EXTREMELY hard on footwear. i also know that you cannot, or shouldn't skimp on footwear. your body reacts to your movements from the ground up. if you're skimping at the first point of contact, everything else suffers. now, i am very lucky to be able to afford the luxury of buying boots this often. think about it, i'm on my 31st and 32nd pairs. i see people wearing boots for years at a time, and that is fine for them. some of these people are also complaining about foot pain, leg pain, back pain, etc. coincidence? i don't think so. shoes can be comfortable, but not offer the support and shock absorption they should. i choose not to take the risk. i still have a few pairs of these boots that are a couple of years old that i save for the dirtiest jobs around the house. once grungy to the point of grossness, i then throw them away, and cycle in another retired pair. these boots last through the worst i can throw at them, and only fail by my own judgement, not by lack of quality. you will not be disappointed by these boots.
Perfect fit for a very picky man. These have to have the exact toe fit, arch support, correct width and the sole has to be right as well as the height of the boot itself. These are the only boots my picky husband will wear and thankfully they last him a good while beca6they are hard to find and a bit pricey.
I moved to Canada years ago and haven’t been able to get these. Recently bought these when I was at my mom’s house in PA and I’m so glad I did! They’re the best!
Great fit and very comfortable right out of the box. I'm in Construction, for 30 yrs. Have tried boots from most manufacturers in that time. I'm very pleased by their comfort , and they won't fall apart too quickly. I work litterly 7 days a week and are pretty hard on my boots and get about 6 months out of them. Others would probably get more. I can take them out of the box and work em to death. The laces will be replaced around half life. Steel toes are a must for me and they're decently insulated for cold weather, work outside most days in the northeast and on 20 degree days i will need 2 pairs of Sox . They are a good bang for your buck.
The ankle fits too tight on the left boot, but I’ll keep them and not tie the left boot too tight. The quality is good.I may have been shipped a return because there were scuffs on one boot, but since I plan to scuff them up anyway no big deal.
Have worn these for the past 5 months. What people say about Durashocks is true. They are amazing comfortable for a work boot. I wear these in the office where sometimes I need steel toes to go into other areas of the building. I had some concerrn about the insulated part being too much to wear in the office but its never been a problem. In fact the opposite because the build has concrete floors covered with carpet tiles so in the winter the floors give off a slight ambient cold. These keep my feet just warm enough but have never been too hot to wear indoors. These look good and can wear these all day. There is only one thing I dont like about these boots. I have wide feet and usually wear a 4E. I bought these in EW hoping they would be wide enough. The rest of the boot broke in ok and are plenty wide enough. But the toe box seems like its the standard width. They do put some pressure on the sides of my toes and give me callus on my big toe. Its why I gave 4 star rating. To be fair it seems to be hard to find 4E work boots so maybe these are as good as it gets.
