At first the heel part hurt a little bit but after wearing them twice they felt great!! Just need a tad bit of breaking in and they are very comfy and have good support.

Comfy right out of the box. True to size. I bought stone color which is nice neutral grayish taupe.
Ordered because I liked the style for the office without being too glitzy. Looked versatile to wear with jeans or dress pants. Have bought other White Mountain loafers in 8.5 wide (same as this purchase) several years ago and they still hold up well. It feels to me like they've changed their sizing as this style is similar to my earlier mentioned purchase. The toe box does not feel it was made for wide width, although it's not pointy. I tried wearing to the carpeted office since the shoe went on comfortably. For perspective, most of my day is spent at my desk and probably 25% is up and down for short distances. By the time I got home my feet all over were in so much pain it took 5 days to become pain-free; it was so bad that I had trouble wearing other fitted shoes for a bit. The sides and tops of my feel felt like all the little bones inside were broken after wearing these for one day. For reference I wear the athletic shoe with the checkmark on the side in a 9 wide very comfortably but it seems with most dressier shoes I have to size down by a 1/2 size. It's really hard to find wide widths in women's shoes that are comfortable. I'm of the belief you shouldn't really have to break shoes in. If they don't feel right when you try them on, then don't think they'll feel better eventually. That's been my personal experience. Because it was an Amazon purchase, of course, I couldn't do that. Maybe it's my feet but if you have a problems up front with a shoe that's more narrow at the toe, from my experience, these probably won't be comfortable for you, as well. Regretfully, I had to return but in all fairness, the shoe was nice and seemed to be of quality construction..
