FOOT: Size 8. High Arch. Narrow to Medium Width.PROS:Finally a Vionic adjustable wide strap-type orthotic slide made ONLY for a Woman’s foot! The Tide-Brindie is PERFECT!Made for Women’s Feet Only (not Unisex) so foot fills insole well and the generous Velcro on strap can be adjusted fully to fit my narrow to medium foot and foot stays secure, safe and doesn’t flop around.Fully supports my high arch.Has moderate cushioning for comfort but still supportive.Has a wide, flat and stable outsole platform for stability; no rocker motion design!Excellent outsole traction for wet surfaces.Ultra light and soft insole traction for when feet are wet.Breathable yet soft and comfortable upper.Easy care design.Fabulous range of colors.CONS:Would love a built-in metatarsal pad in addition to the provided arch and heel support but I can add a stick on one.CONCLUSION:Thank You Vionic for making the Brindie! Women need women’s only wide strap orthotic slides not unisex ones. Please don’t discontinue this shoe! A Great shoe. Great colors, upper, insole, outsole, quality, arch support, sizing, cushioning, traction, stability and support!NOTE:Compared this shoe to the Vionic Kiwi which is an OK wide strap slide but it only comes in Unisex sizing which means it is too wide for my narrow to medium women’s size foot. Despite adjusting the strap as narrow as possible my foot still would slide around. Also the Kiwi has an almost negative zero drop, flat, minimal cushioning and rigid heel which doesn’t provide enough support and leads to low back pain and a jarring landing. It is too much to expect a single shoe in one size with fit both men’s and women’s feet of all width types and have good function, stability and fit
Love these sandals. I use the around the house since I am prone to plantar fasciitis. Have be using Vionics now for about 8 years and htey have been wonderful for my feet. I really wouldn't use these out in public though, defintely not stylish for that!
These are not the best looking shoes, but when you have lots of foot problems/pain you have to realize you aren't going to have the cutest shoes. I love the Vionic sandals because of needing good firm arch support. I have bought "knock offs" but they just were too soft. These have a soft top base and then a firmer bottom base. The adjustable strap is nice and makes it easier to fit right. They aren't sexy by any means and they do run a little big, I know a 6 would for sure be way too small, but if they had a 6.5 that may have been a little better (I bought and normally wear a 7) but overall I am good with these for around the house and running errands. I have a couple pairs of their house slippers too because of the great arch support.
After wearing a surgical shoe, I needed something supportive, yet comfortable enough to manage a foot that will be continuing to heal for months to come. This Vionic Tide slide fit the bill. I can adjust the top so that it fits comfortably over a bare foot or socks, or even a somewhat swollen foot. The base is rigid enough to give firm support without being completely stiff. The arch is quite high, but it works for my needs keeping both feet properly aligned. It’s easy to put on and take off, and appears well made. I believe this is sized very accurately too. Pleased with this purchase.
I’m usually a size 8 but this size 9 fits perfect as if it were an 8. Comfy!
Update: Changed my review from 2 to 3 starts. Since my plantar is improving thanks to the Vionic recovery slide sandals, I now find I can comfortably walk in the Tide Brindie sandals for a short time. I expect they'll be functional once the plantar is completely healed. They give good arch support, however, I prefer a sandal that either has a back strap or is contoured to fit the foot better. They are okay for house shoes or to wear on the patio. They are passable & wearable but NOT comfortable at all. I bought them hoping they would help with my plantar fascitis and they actually do a little bit because they redistribute my weight to the front and middle of my foot and off of my heel BUT the arch support is way too high & hard and I have moderately high arches (not super high). The sole of the shoe is extremely hard and I was hoping for more cushion. Still, they're better than my crocs for the plantar but that's not saying much. What I ended up doing was buying the Vionic Recovery Slides (the Hoka Recovery Slides rubbed terrible blisters) and they are much, much better. Not quite as cushioned as I hoped but the arches are much better and they immediately relieve the plantar pain. So if that's your issue go with the Recovery Slides rather than these!
I thought these were great during the first month with good arch support and comfort. These shoes are made of cheap material. The heels wore down pretty quickly and started to flake off with every step. My use of these shoes were very light. I didn’t even wear them everyday. I wore them more often around the house. I bought three pairs of these cheap quality shoes. What a waste of money. Vionic shoes are not of the same quality they used to be.
I really like Vionic sandals, but I don't like flip flops and getting sand on my feet. I have many Tide II type sandals that I mainly wore indoors. I prefer ones without toe posts, so I tried another brand - but they have an almost 1.5 inch thick sole and I am finding it less stable and don't like loosing my balance. I saw these Vionics - no toe post, supportive but not so thick, and adjustable width - VIOLA! I also got them in the sandal size I usually wear, a 9. I am wearing size 10 sneaker and full shoes and some 10.5 if the toes are pointy or the toe box small. I put on these Tide Brindie Hook and Loop Sandals out of the box and haven't taken them off 6 hours later! AHHHH! These are just right. I do not feel shaky on my feet. My fat toes are happy. YAY.
