I’ve wanted a pair of these boots since they came out over 10yrs ago, because I love Timberlands and these boots look mean and durable! The problem was they were only available in a steel toe whenever I was in the market for new work boots. I work in an environment where I need to go through metal detectors at least once a day and it’s a pain to have to take your boots off every day. Finally I found them in this composite toe and shank!!! I read the negative reviews and I don’t agree with any of the issues except two and I found a solution for both. I wear a size 11R and the toes look very proportional to the boot, nothing clown like about them. I get compliments on these boots daily! No one is complimenting clown shoes. They are big but look at the pictures... this is a mean, durable, tough AF boot. Do they look small in the pictures? Lol. These boots are EXTREMELY comfortable in the soles as well!!! The two issues i read that I also had was tight/painful in the shin area and pain in the top of the foot/front ankle area from something digging in on one foot when walking. To fix the painful shin issue just don’t lace them through the very top hooks..... they are two hooks tall, tie them using only the bottom hooks, problem solved! The digging into the top of my right foot only issue made me look at why the left boot wasn’t doing it but the right was. The difference was on my right boot where the tongue fabric attached on one side was folded up and out instead of pulled down and in. All I had to do was push that canvas down with my finger when I tightened my laces for a few days to retrain the canvas to fold inwards instead of outwards and now it does it on its own like the left boot. When the canvas from the attached tongue folds down it protects your foot from where the leather folds in at your ankle as you walk. I’ve owned TONS of timberlands in my life and these boots are very high quality, worth every penny.
These boots are the best work boots I've ever had and I've cycled through a lot of boots until I found this one, I've been wearing these for 4 years now and I buy a new pair every year to keep the freshness there, plus I work in an aluminum foundry so I need to get a new pair every year, these take almost no time to break in, usually my feet hurt for the first week of wearing boots but these have never hurt my feet, so by far these are the best boots I've worn in my life. i look online to switch up my boots to redwing or something different but i keep going back to the same comfortable boots because i know they are amazing.
Good fitting boot that lasts and takes a beating.
Bought these in April 2023, these are the best boots I have ever had, the steal toe is very durable, had to replace the insoles once as I had wore it down to a hole, now the rubber is about gone, I think the rubber on these boots could be a little harder compound, since the boot is stitched, the rubber will always be the first thing to go. Great boot, waterproof and comfortable, will buy again.
I've only wore them for a few hours so far and right out if the box they're super comfortable and are doing great so far. They feel like they weigh about 80 pounds so just be prepared for that haha
The most comfortable boot I have worn. The W size fits wide feet correctly, and the protection composite toe does not limit toe room like other boots. The composite toe is the same size as the wide area of the foot, so there isn't an issue where your foot fits perfectly but your toe digs into the protective cap. The boots have a soft "give" with every step, unlike the pitboss boots which have a solid stiff sole. The softness of each step is comparable to the Powertrain Sport Alloy timberland boot, if you ever had a chance to try that one on. This soft feeling of the shoe might not be for everyone however, but I find it provides the most comfortable fit. The boot is large in size, much bigger than the pitboss, but comparable in weight. The toe and heel of the boot do not get easily damaged like the leather on other boots which is a plus. There is no break-in period for these boots, they are comfortable day 1, unlike most fashion timberland boots which have a 3+ month break in, and the pitboss which has around 3-5 week break in period respectfully. The size of the boot is quite large again, so only long socks may be worn. There will be friction if you wear ankle or "boot" socks with the boondocks. As far as the fit, I am an 11 W, and 11W fit me. In the pitboss boots, because of the awkward steel toe I had to get an 11.5 W. In regular timberland boots I am an 11D. If you are one of those guys who have never tried wide should before you should go to a store and try it out, they didn't have stuff like that when I was a kid.
Yes, these are a little bulky in appearance with the front and back capped with protective rubber shell BUT I really really love them. Why?Let me count the ways:1. Real leather construction, great soles, support, nearly indestructable toe cap (I used to always scuff up the tips of my boots) with the composite tip it's safe for many industrial work environments. Relatively light weight boots since it's not a steel tipped boot Great arch support, good looking but probably not for suitable for office or formal attire. WHO cares, we built this place! lolOverall, my favorite everyday boots and have no fear, you will hear compliments on their good rugged looks at least once a week which is not necessarily a bad thing.Highly recommended A+++ rating in my opinion after wearing these gems for several months as of this review.
Husband is rough on work boots and they usually don't last him a full year but he said these are the most comfortable steel toe boots he's had and likes the rubber on the toes because it seems more durable than his all leather boots that normally rip there.
