I have owned and worn out several pairs of these shoes over the years.Perfect for wet or snowy days with those lug soles that always look great.Went ahead and sprayed waterproofing product to enhance the leather’s water resistance. Timberland has a winner product and I wish that they would supply us with the more popular sizes!Perfect for travel and nice to kick off at the Airport security checkpoint.
Outstanding boat shoes and probably the best under $100 (even compared to higher end brands like Allen Edmonds). These are my 2nd pair. The originals were 6 years old and were made in US. These are now made in Dominican Rep. but the quality is the same (no chinese crap here and I applaud Timberlands for not 'chinarizing' this shoes which a lot of brands do now..even boat shoes in the $200 range.Pluses:- The quality/stitching is very well done and the leather is US sourced (which a lot of people dont know). Use mink oil ...let it sit outside in the sun for a few hours , then wipe off the access. The leather will get a rich moist look which also helps in sealing it.- Unlike most boat shoes, the heel has good grip/traction so this will handle rough terrain as well, as long as casual environments.- High end look with brass hardware.- Leather laces (a lot of boat shoes don't use leather laces).- Boat shoes that can last (if u oil it often after usage).Minuses:- Like all timberlands, these run 1/2 large (I typically wear 9 in sneakers and ordered this in 8.5. Little snug for few days but after oiling it, it broke in just fine. (this is not really a minus, however).- 1" rubber heel may not be the preference for some people in a boat shoes. Personally, for me, I like that extra added support but whatever floats your goat.Others:I just came from a 7 day island trip/vacation and only took 2 pairs..my english dress boots and these Timberlands. I fished, hiked, went boating and did tons of walking in the islands/towns/villages and never did I wish I had brought another pair instead. I got several compliments as well from random people. For our fishing trip, we were in a coral reef so I didn't take these off and these were fully submerged in knee deep ocean water for hours. I came back yesterday and washed these. Then applied mink oil. Good as new.Hoping these will last like my original pair .
I have had a pair of these shoes in rotation since 8th grade. Now that I'm firmly in my 40s, I still rely on this durable, good-looking footwear for spring, summer and fall use.My last pair fell victim to an over-zealous German Shepherd, otherwise I'd still be wearing them. They fit perfectly (I'm a 9.5 EE) and feel perfectly comfortable. They don't have a ton of cushioning, but knowing that going in, they're still super comfy. My family has been complaining about my tracking mud and dirt through the house and car my entire life and these don't help. Having said that, these soles work well when walking those same dogs in summer heat.If you think you'd like a pair of these, trust me, you will .
Delivery was delayed by a USPS ERROR, but it was corrected and I love the shoes. IT WAS GREAT TO GET A MESSAGE FROM THE SELLER WITHIN 24 HOURS, AND HE WAS CORRECT, THE DELIVERY PROBLM RESTED WITH THE USPS. I AM HAPPY AND WILL BUY AGAIN FROM THE SELLER.
I've of and on wanted a pair of these since the eighties when my college roommate wore them nonstop. I share the disappointment over manufacture of these overseas but the Haitian made pair I have from Timberland's Amazon store seem to be well made. Having said that, I would gladly pay $50 more for US made quality and the knowledge that US workers had the jobs. That said, they fit well but the reports here regarding running large are true. I have worn an 11.5 for over 30 years. Nikes, Asics and every other running or athletic shoe as well as boots as varied as snowboard and ski boots and Vasques and Danner boots and Cole Haan(garbage) and Allen Edmonds as well as Hush Puppy dress shoes, all fit me in an 11.5. In these, I ordered an 11 medium and the fit is perfect. Perhaps not a full half size large, but darn close to it with a medium thickness sock. I've been wearing them for the last day, and they are becoming more and more comfortable, and are stretching a tad. the initial fit was a little rough, especially with a thin sock, but they are fitting better after a day of wearing. Hopefully, they will wear well. I;d be more confident of that if they were US made. We shall see.
A classic casual shoe that is comfortable for all-day wearing from the office to the field site that looks great. I've been wearing this shoe for years as my "go-to" shoe when I have to venture out into construction work sites with khakis, looks good enough for the office too, without needing to carry extra boots (except in those really wet/muddy sites, then the boots go on!). A very well made shoe that holds up for years. I did notice that these didn't have the 'made in USA' label in them and wonder if maybe the manufacturing of these New England shoes has finally been shipped off-shore, since they were always handmade in New England for decades. They still seem to be as well made as my old ones and time will tell if they'll last as long. These are the one shoe I buy over and over again, and hope the day never arrives when I can't get them. Love these shoes!
Comfortable shoes, stylish for casual outfit and nice color.
Great pair of shoes with a thick rubber sole that has great tread. Comfortable and they keep my feet dry when I walk our pet. My second pair I recommend these shoes !
