These are the most comfortable EMS boots I’ve ever owned. The zippers are a little tough but I will buy these exact same boots again when these go bad. My last boots were thorogoods and lasted me years which is abnormal for me as I’m hard on footwear.
I doubted Thorogood's reputation however, after so many people recommended them by putting Thorogood's on their feet, I had to give them a try.Thorogood's Crosstrek's feel lovely, they're breathable, waterproof & it's just a delightful product to wear.I have ginormous feet that seem to act as speed bumps/doorstops. I didn't want a heavy steel toe so, I was really attracted to the composite toe in this boot. This is a really good composite toe construction in this boot that is lightweight & comfortable.I just can't feel the inconvenience of the size of my feet in these Thorogood Crosstrek's when they hit walls, tractor tires or, objects that would otherwise break a normal person's toe. These Thorogood Crosstrek's look like high top sneakers.I'm not a sneakers guy but, I am impressed that I don't have to walk around looking like I work at the circus in order to protect my feet.
I have only had these boots for 14 days, so I can not comment on durability yet. The 13 wides I ordered fit great and are the most comfortably boot I have had in my over 30 years in emergency services. Thorogood list them as water and bloodborne pathogen proof. Most of the waterproof boots I have had in my career except for a few the tongue was attached all the way to the top of the boot. The tongue in these do not do that, which creates a place where water and bloodborne pathogens can enter the boots and get to your feet.
I own several different work boots from expensive to moderately priced and these are hands down the best I’ve come across. Everything you want and need in a rugged outdoor work boot. Non slip bottom, comfortable, solid protective toe, and they look great ! I will definitely be recommending these to my co workers and after wearing them I would of paid more for these. Can’t beat the price can’t beat the quality and there Thorogood !
I bought 2 pair of these. I liked them in the first weeks, so i ordered another pair. After a few weeks in the first pair, the zipper failed and then the back of the boot broke down, the the sole of the boot broke down. I had already bought a second pair so i put those on. I have a huge calluses on my left big toe. See pics. I plan to order some more boots and as soon as they get here, throw these in the trash. My feet hurt every day!
Very stiff and uncomfortable. Hurting my feet and lower back after just a few hours wearing them. Stiff insoles. After three days walking in them 8 to 5 on a job site, I realized I cannot take it any more. My feet were sweating, too. On the plus side, the zipper is great to take on/off. Returned.
I'm currently on my third pair of these boots. I work in a trade and these boots receive a beating. From roofs to masonry work, they've seen it all. These are hands down the most comfortable work boot I've ever owned. And it seals the deal that it's also a side zip. I never have to tie my boots. Just jump in em and go. They are great walking on asphalt roofs. They are also durable within reason. I'm not quite sure there is a bulletproof boot. They all wear out eventually. And these eventually will. But not before taking a licking. The combination of the comfort, durability and price, in addition to the side zip AND a composite toe make this a winner in my eyes. I buy a pair every 8 months to a year. Worth it. And if you actually don't abuse them I'm sure they'd last even longer.
The boots are comfortable and light. I don’t usually use boots at work but am very pleased with these. I’m able to move around easily and kneel on the ambulance floor with ease. The hight is low enough to allow my ankle to flex and avoid shin splints. The composite toe provides safety and not restrictive. I bought wide.
