I was super impressed. I had bought the cheaper Sperry boat shoes before and really didn't wear them. Then I found out they have a "Gold Cup" line of that is basically higher quality with nicer leather. These are so buttery soft and comfortable, and noticeably higher quality that my non-Gold Cup Sperry boat shoes.

This is my second pair. 1st pair lasted over 4 years. Easy to slip on and off. I'm prone to rolling my ankles and the thin but durable soles keep my weight low and have not rolled once while wearing them. Whereas I have with regular tennis shoes with the 1 inch or more thick soles. Leather breaks in well to conform to foot. Excellent traction in wet environment.
My second pair of Sperry Gold Cups, and made about the same as the pair I bought years ago. They'd get 5 stars if they did the foot bed a bit different. As other posters point out, the foot bed covering is a very nice leather pad, but it's a two piece cover where the heel piece extends into the shoe to about the ball of the foot area. If you don't wear socks (who does with these) the front edge will eventually begin to pull away overtime as removing the shoe loosens it. When it starts to peel back t's a noticeable feeling when you wear them. you can remove it and replace with an innersole, or try an re-glue it... Overall tho, for the price theses still are very stylish and comfortable shoes.
