Spenco Women's Siesta Slide Mule, Off White, 9 Review

My third pair of these Spenco Siesta Slide Mules. I absolutely love them and wear them year round. They have fantastic arch support, fit true to size (7 and a half), they're sturdy, well made and very comfortable.

I have plantar fasciitis, heel spurs, and heel pain, and my feet are somewhat narrow with high arches. For one of my jobs I stand on my feet for long hours, and I'm usually pretty miserable for hours after. My podiatrist recommended the Kholo sandals for around the house, but the normal size I wear, an 8, was too large for me, so I purchased these in a 7.First, the fit. Normally I wear an 8-8.5 in most shoes. I like a roomy toebox. I was worried going down a size to a 7 would make the toebox cramped and uncomfortable. Not in these shoes! The toebox is definitely roomy, and the rest of the shoe fits snug but not tight. It doesn't feel like I'm going to lose my shoes when I'm sitting on a barstool. The metatarsal support takes a little getting used to, but after a few days it feels great. The cork sole also took a little getting used to, but I like the feel of it now. These are far more comfortable than any other shoe I own. They're also really cute!As for pain relief, these shoes are fantastic. My heel pain is mostly gone after wearing these for a week. I don't feel any referred pain to my toes anymore, and I can stand for long periods of time again. I even jogged down the hall at work yesterday - no pain. After the first few hours I decided these weren't "for around the house", and now I wear them everywhere.I'm definitely going to get a few pairs in other colors, and try out the insoles and the flip flops.

I was looking for a good traveling/ walking shoe, I hesitated in buying these due to some of the negative reviews. I accidentally put them on my wish list instead of shopping list while considering options. My son saw them on my list and sent them to me for Mother’s Day. What a wonderful surprise !These are so comfortable and great for walking. The arch support is just perfect. I need a good arch support but not one too high, this shoe fits the bill. I don’t like cramming my feet into the toe of a shoe and these give a comfortable amount of breathing room without being loose. I tend to wear Birkenstock shoes and these give a little less room in the toe. If you have a narrow foot these most likely would not be for you. Admittedly I was not sure about the boxie look initially but changed my opinion quickly.The insole is a cork type material (or at least appears to be) which adds additional comfort. These are so comfortable I bought a second pair.Unlike other reviews, I have had no issues with the seams coming apart, or the toe being too wide. Highly recommend- great for walking without looking like you are heading to the gym.

A little wider and longer than expected, but will be perfect with socks. Arch support is superior and footbed is excellent 'cure' for supination, fasciitis, arthritis, and all that ails! Plus they are a fine quality of leather. Comparable to Vionic, but these are genuine leather rather than cheap poly-vinyl whatever that wears out in 3 months, despite a much higher price tag! In fact, structurally, I believe they may be superior? More like a Berkenstock, but again, without the painful price tag! No break-in time; ready to wear right out of the box. Good looking--doesn't appear 'orthopedic'. I usually wear a 9 W, but went for a 9B. As I said, they were plenty wide and a little long, but when worn with (light not heavy) socks, they are just perfect. Very happy to find a replacement for the more expensive, lesser structural quality, and plasticky material of Vionic. Try them!

I really like these shoes. They are cute and comfortable and easy to wear. I got the pink and it is a nice, soft pink with a kind of tweed look to the fabric. The arch support is great and the metatarsal dome that some mentioned bothered them did not bother me at all. I loved it. I have problems with the tendons in my right ankle (aching and pain) and with the ball of my left foot (pain and numbness) and these shoes alleviate all pain and aching I otherwise feel when going barefoot on my hardwood floors- or when walking long distances (particularly on my elliptical). When measured, I am an exact size 7 1/2, but I almost always purchase an 8 as they nearly always feel better on my foot. I was unsure of which size to purchase in these shoes because of that! Most people said they ran large and wide, so I decided to size down from my "actual shoe size" of 7 1/2 to a size 7. The size 7 shoes fit me, barefoot, exactly- with no extra room on the back of the heel. I would have a hard time wearing a sock, particularly a thicker sock, with the size 7. I probably could have worn the size 8, but will never know now! I am keeping these as I had planned on wearing them barefoot anyway. There is plenty of toe room and the top of my foot doesn't ever get sore or fall asleep from tightness like lace-up shoes do to me. My one complaint, which is why I took off one star, is that my feet do sweat a bit next to the "cork" footbed. It is not actually cork, but has the look of cork. I think actual cork would work better than this material, but I can live with it. Very cute shoe! Can't wait to wear them with shorts in the summer time!

I ordered the tan color because it was the only color available in my size, but I hope additional colors become available. I take a womens 9 1/2 and since there are no half sized I ordered up to a size 10. I like that there is no fuzzy stuff in these shoes (I use them for slippers/house shoes). They are cool in the summer and now that it's winter, I have plenty of room to wear socks if needed. I have plantar fasciitis and these are very comfortable for me and cause no pain. The little hump in the middle is very helpful to keep the slides on and doesn't bother me at all. I will definitely order another pair, if only different colors become available (hint, hint, I like the purple ones!).
